Hi, I need a 17" 16ms LCD, it will be used for a lot of gaming as well as word processing use and web browsing and so on. The thing is I'd really like to get on from a retail store, idealing Best Buy, CompUSA, Microcenter, or CircuitCity. Mainly because of the dead Pixel Plague, so I'd prefer to get it from Bestbuy if anything because they have a very good return policy. Also I want something that'll look decent, and preferably black or silver, and under 600 dollars.

Ok, so you make an idiotic post in the Mac G5 thread... then come here, and ask a question that is, honest to god, asked at least once a day. Do a freakin' search, you absolute retard. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Well I tell you what, after your done here, and you buy a Benq monitor (that's what you deserve) you'll probably make a post about "Building Your New System: Ideas?" Or maybe "Is this PSU enough??"

Your lack of searching skillz angers me.

Ok i found the Viewsonic VP171B which i like a lot from what I've seen, 16ms digital and analog inputs, 500:1 contrast ratio and reasonably priced. Now back to the dead pixel concern, please don't flame me anymore either it's pointless... I found the monitor at compusa.com however it's not available in stores, and it costs $534 there plus tax which makes the price kind of high, it costs, it'd be ok if they had it in stores, but I think I'd end up having to ship it back to them and such to get a replacement. So I decided to take a look at Dell.com as well, and they happen to have it for a much better price $468, I was wondering what dells exchange policy is like on LCD's it doesn't say anything about not accepting exchanges for dead pixels like it does on newegg.com.

not trying to be flamed :(

I agree, I have seen the CML174 and it looks great. Though I myself have my eye on an NEC 17" 16ms response time one for a few months down the road, and a Samsung one. I hear the NEC 1760V is a good one too, and its variants are as well. I myself don't have an LCD yet, so I don't have personal experience to go on but I am sure those are safe bets.

I have seen this question asked a lot too, but I think its best to not raise hell about it and just ANSWER the question. I'm sure helpdesk people get asked the same question 5x a day but they don't go off on the caller. I think the best thing is posting links to previous threads.

I hope I could help!

And you come in with a post like this, you seem to always have responses that are personal attacks and pathetic...

why not help out next time so you aren't labeled as the retard...

BTW,

The Benq is a sweet monitor...

Chill.
Samsung and Sony don't even have 16ms lcds anyways.

BTW, that Benq monitor you are so against has the same screen as the Viewsonic you were looking at.
