You were doing good there, but then you countered your own logic.

People run red lights and stop signs when they don't think they can be caught. Same with speeding. Now, if those things were not illegal, don't you think people would be doing it more often? That's what I was trying to get at... unless you're referring to something else.

Could you imagine living in a world with druggies everywhere? At least now that it's illegal, they keep to themselves for the most part and they do it within privacy because it is illegal and they do not want to get caught. No kidding. I was at the DMV the other day. Some older gentlemen was in there to get his license. I don't know if it was a new license or a renewal.
He couldn't read the eye test screen, so they broke out flashcards for him. That should have been a tip-off NOT to license him, but I digress.
He starts rattling out random numbers: "6. 8? No, wait ... 3?". The DMV clerk tells him there are no numbers, just letters. He then says, "Oh just letters? Heh, guess I can't see them too good. Is that a 5, then?" Despite this glaring act of senility / dementia / idiocy / retardation, THEY STILL GAVE HIM HIS LICENSE!!! The clerks thought he was 'a nice old man' and didn't want to seem mean.
BRILLIANT! Let's risk the lives of thousands of drivers on the streets and highways of MA so you don't seem 'mean' to a guy who isn't going to remember what you even look like when he turns away! What's he going to do - shake his cane at you and tell you to get a haircut "YA HIPPIE"?!?

It seems you do understand, you just don't agree. You assume (as you have posted) that more people will experiment and become addicted.

While this is a good point, I have some others. If drugs were legal, people who experiment wouldn't have to deal with criminals (who may kill them) to get them. The drugs would more likely be as advertised instead of being cut with "who knows what" that may kill them instantly. The lesser profit wouldn't benefit gangs as much. Foolish young experimenters would not be jailed solely for the drugs and lose future job opportunities. If the profit was taken out of the picture, what would be the point of being a drug dealer?

This is only to show that the havoc you forsee is not at all definate.

Probably the idea/notion that one can legally "own" land. If that "law" were taken away and no single entity (not even the government or any established entity) were to own a plot of land, everything would erupt into chaos.
