I'll have to listen to it sometime tonight. He is one of the few legit candidates. He seems to have a good grasp on ethics/morality...something everyone should be able to agree on.

His focus on poverty and poverty culture is refreshing because lately all we seem to want to talk about is "Small business" and "Trickle down" economics.

You need to chill dude!! You didn`t even watch the video! So Bernie Sanders quoted maybe 6 Bible verses in the first 5 minutes of a 28 minute speech at a Christian University!! It was very ballsy for Bernie Sanders to accept the invitation and to go into what I would call a lions den due to his views concerning gay marriage and abortion......you need to chill dude!!

How come the students at this conservative university didn't grab his mic away, glitter bomb him or shout him down? You'd think with all the fanatics we keep hearing about on the right that these things would have occurred.

Not a fan of Liberty or the Falwells in the least, but I have to say I am VERY impressed with the respect and kindness they showed Bernie. I think it speaks well of both Liberty and Sanders that they did that, kudos to both. Dialogue is good. Shit, that place was packed!

The establishment politicians who traditionally milk evangelicals have yet another reason to fear Bernie. Compare that to the Cruz talk!

I'm officially changing my Sanders stance: I think he really does have a shot to be our next president - and I certainly hope he is. So far only Sanders, Kasich and Biden strike me as intelligent, respectable human beings who don't lie through their teeth and pander like whores. Kasich won't get the GOP nom, and I don't think Biden is going to run.

This just re-affirms my desire to vote for the guy! Hillary and Cruz must be sweating their asses off now. I already suspected republican females liked the guy, now I know it.

You know, I don't agree with this man on a single issue.

But that fact that he's civil and mature says alot about him. Maybe it's his age.

they want bernie to win because they think he is easier to beat in the primary. Its all nice right now but as soon as he is the candidate then the gloves come off and they will pull out that he is a commie and evil atheist socialist. The thing is they are out of touch and words like commie dont mean anything anymore.

Yep. Had this been a right-winger at Berkley we all know that's exactly how the "tolerant" left would have reacted.

The reason is as I said. Its a calculated move. Hillary is already calling him a socialist. The republicans will join in on that just after he beats Hillary. She is too middle of the road and that means to close to call. Big gamble if you ask me. Watch us end up with a progressive dem as president. It would be amazing.

Good point. I do find it hard to believe a Ted Cruze would go to Berkeley and tell students he admires their passion & right to support abortion.
Honestly Cruze wouldn't have the balls to go and speak at Berkeley.

Perhaps so, but many others who did intend to speak at lib universities have been denied that right, shouted down or otherwise kept out. Liberty U is much to religious for my taste, but at least they allowed someone to present a view that didn't match their own. That's much more than many lib unies can say.

while not quite stupid enough to be religious himself, he doesn't shy away from trying to use it to push his agenda. Disgusting. He won't get the dem nom, and none of those people would vote for him even if he did. All so dumb.

And as if people are lining up to speak at fucking liberty university ("at least they let him speak..." lol).

You know I am a Hillary supporter! But I must say that is the first anti Hillary comment that I agree with!!

Good speech. It certainly was one tailored for the audience, but not pandering to that audience. He merely tried to speak his views in a way that might appeal to the audience.

He definitely had some support there, but most of the crowd wasn't impressed. In fact, especially given that Liberty likes to make these speeches Mandatory attendance for Students, most of the audience clearly didn't even want to be there and had no interest in hearing what he had to say. That said, I suspect a good many will at least be challenged to consider his argument.

He really could be the next President. Possibly even one of those Presidents that stands out as one of the best.
