Comparing a vehicle, whose primary point of existence is to transport humans and things to a gun, whose primary point of existence is to deal death, is a really stupid argument and one that righties only use. It's like they can't grasp simple concepts.

The firearms I own primary point of existence is to hurl lead at mostly non-living targets I enjoy shooting at - the living targets are hunted ethically in that rare occasion I do it in...and that's true probably for the vast majority of firearm owners. It is only a secondary benefit that they're available almost immediately to defend my life/property. It's like...Lefties can't grasp simple concepts either. Now, back to continuing the Lefty mindset:

Man these Assault Trucks that can carry more than 10 square feet of cargo! We need to allow them to only be driven at "common sense" speeds! If only the suppressor on these Assault Vehicles didn't make them so quiet, people wouldn't be hurt! And again with the scary black paint job: Why must they be black?! Black makes these Assault Trucks more scary (zomg)! If the steering wheel on these Assault Trucks could be re-designed to not make them so ergonomic, and thus less useful to the user, maybe that would stop them being so lethal?! OMG we need additional regulations for driving these!

Man these ISIS guys are everywhere. Gay night clubs, malls, roads, trucks, universities. They've got America, Russia and Syria on the run with no end in sight. It's like ... they came out of thin air?

They basically got the whole theatre covered with their attacks. Guess it's pretty easy these days to become "radicalized" on the interwebs. Just watch a few ISIS videos and wala, your in.

Here's another one from the article:

So basically, stay scared and stay inside because a truck of mass destruction was used?

These ISIS guys got the whole world running in circles .... or at appears that way ....

We gave 35,000 of them a dirt nap, and counting. They've holed up in cities or have gone underground to focus on traditional terror. How exactly do you equate that with having anyone on the run?

We let these ISIS supermen with their old pickup trucks take over Mosul with 1500 men! Where the heck were the Americans to stop them? I mean, Mosul has more than a million people. Why would the world's superpower allow something like this to happen in its own backyard? It's not like the Americans are not in the vicinity. Oh no ... we were nowhere. We allowed ISIS to grow and take hold of Mosul and expand for a couple of years.

Now we see Iraqi "military" and their macho men supposedly going building to building after the "evil" ISIS terrorists. Yeah, sure. I mean, 30,000 Iraqi soldiers supposedly fled Mosul from 1,500 ISIS fighters but now I guess their courage is regained.

And the figure you just mentioned is pretty interesting. It seems like these ISIS guys have great recruiting skills to grow in numbers like that. I'm not saying it's a wrong figure but it's just bizarre in what world would men in pickup trucks have the world's superpower so confused.

I would, why wouldn't you? In either case, religion is the primary cause, or even motive. People that think Islamic terror is the principle threat to our nation are silly, several deaths per year in America out of thousands is almost nothing, but Islam is still the cause.

Sure don't want that since wherever Americans seem to go, they usually bring destruction along with them.

And, speaking of current situation in Syria, we should be very careful of what sources to trust. Remember, in the Middle East, the stakes are high. The world powers won't allow things to happen by accident. It's part of the game. We are in the current situation not by accident.

I think you need to re-examine the whole "we are not occupying Iraq" topic, particularly the timeline regarding US troops training Iraqi troops then pulling out. American troops were legally bound to withdraw, and they did. Why are you so invested in blaming the US for the fuckups of others? We do bear responsibility for creating ISIS (thanks Cheney and sockpuppet) but we never told Iraqis to run for the hills and ditch all the gear we gave them many years later. You want someone to blame for the gains ISIS made, blame corrupt Iraqi commanders and all those with an overabundance of caution.

I am not Iraqi.

I understand what you are saying and you make good points. What I'm trying to say is that the world's lone superpower has certain motives in the world. One of them has been the Middle East and what happens in it. I find it hard to believe that America will let these supermen in pickup trucks called ISIS to run around taking town after town especially after capturing a major city like Mosul. It is either done by design or America simply doesn't care about the trillions of dollars it "invested" in Iraq.

Iraq is our backyard. We went in there like bullies and took over the country from a legitimate ruler (no matter how "evil" he was). America doesn't play by rules. It does what it wants. It is surprising how suddenly "hands off" the foreign policy was when these ISIS supermen were now running around gathering victories.

As far as the cowardice of the Iraqi army, that is what we're lead to believe. How 1,500 ISIS supermen scared away 30,000 Iraqi soldiers alongside other people in Mosul. I mean, the 1,500 ISIS guys were on the OFFENSIVE and yet still managed to take over? If that isn't being supermen, then I don't know what is.

Those are aspects of Christian theology which need to be confronted and not politely ignored. It is the mainstream which enables these things to happen by their tolerance of extremists and their common cause. So yes, anti-abortion people need to be confronted with abortion doctor murders, and Catholics need to be confronted with the pedophilia problem and how that relates to the religion and their involvement.

The fact is that most Muslims on some level share the same ideals and grievances as ISIS. What is not happening is Muslims being driven to disbelief by terrorist attacks, which is what I find most disturbing. That means that they are not bothering to reflect or take responsibility.
