To JOS,

Do you have any link to that claim? I have been trolling various new source and see no evidence of your claim. Which does not disprove what you are saying, but in times like this
rumors can be just as valid as facts for starting mobs moving

"Blame it on Islam", she was prime minister before meaning she was elected by the Pakistani people I'm I wrong? hmm

You want to know who's happy after hearing this news Uncle Sam dictator Pervez Musharraf, the Saudis and of course the US administration by just making sure to have a puppet in that country and not a real elected party!

Life is not fair for those who seek freedom.

itchin' to go back bro?

Definently!

It's not in my future though.

I have faith in our brothers over there though and reading that the US is sending special forces into Pakistan (which i've been arguing for since this started) really eases that itch though.

To me, regardless of what information there is, it's quite obvious why this was done, a democratic ally of the people would break the support for the Talibans among the people in Pakistan, you don't go voting for someone you support and then support their direct enemies.

Terrorism cannot breed wildly in order and democracy because the people will oppose it.

AQ takes credit for everything. This does benefit AQ in some respects, but i'm somewhat skeptical. Still, AQ is far more likely than Musharaff himself.

From news site:

?We terminated the most precious American asset which vowed to defeat [the] mujahadeen,? Al-Qaeda?s commander and main spokesperson Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid told Adnkronos International (AKI) in a phone call from an unknown location, speaking in faltering English. Al-Yazid is the main al-Qaeda commander in Afghanistan."

And what religion is Al-Qaeda based on again? To those who were saying keep Islam and Muslims out of this, all I can say is stop this bullshit. You know the truth, or is this denial in it's purest form?

Thank you for the link GrGr. And now we will see how valid it is as possible denials come in. But I can see it as possibly valid. And if it is valid, it does serve as a warning to Musharrif. Sadly, everyone in Pakistan is vulnerable now.

This is another example of the dangerous world we live in, and why we cannot risk another 4 years of incompetent Republican "leadership" for this country.

Except the generals who run everything. I cannot see anyone else benefiting from this since they have always looked upon themselves as the saviors of Pakistan time and again and here's one more opportunity for those knights in shining armor to redeem their country from the mess they have created.

You know, i think i'm wildly different from most people, i don't hate Muslims, i don't hate Al Quaida because they claim to be Muslims either, i hate them because of their actions, if they were Hindu's or Buddhists or Evangelicals i'd hate them just as much but i still wouldn't blame Hindu's or Buddhists or Evangelicals for their crimes.

This black and white us vs them has to be applied to us vs the terrorists, not us vs Muslims or i don't want any part of either side.

Right... I see your point. I don't hate because of their religion, but I do hate what they have done. I am speaking of the extremists, obviously, not the peaceful, law abiding citizens, who happen to be Muslim. Still, denying certain factions of Islam / Muslims is part of the equation, is just going through life partially blind.

Because whether it was Al Qaeda or some other radical Islam element, they believe that death is an acceptable means to an ends justified and glorified by their religion - or perversion thereof. Like I said earlier, it's time to call a spade a fucking spade. Period.

I'd call them Pakistani extremeists, but I wouldn't be willing to bet they are from Pakistan...... I would be willing to bet they are Muslim though.

Last I checked, she was Muslim too. People can twist any religion to justify anything they want.

That merely says that 46% prefer Osama bin Laden to 38% who prefer Musharraf.
It is not a surprize that most do not like a military dictator like Musharraf. It is not even insane. They don't have much choice there and really dislike Musharraf. The really bad news is that Musharraf is the guy we support.

The worse news is that if Musharraf falls then bin Laden or the Taliban may have control of Pakistan's nuclear weapons. All this happened while we sent our troops to Iraq to through out a dictator who was no threat to us instead of going after bin Laden in Pakistan.

In a sane world, this would unite all of Bhutto's followers more strongly against the Taliban and their AQ buddies... unfortunately, this world ain't sane man!

perhaps they are, but AFAIK, they haven't blown up any markets in downtown D.C... yet.

I said this earlier:

As long as you recognize, and remember, that the fanatical element of Islam does not represent the whole, and that the majority of Muslims the world over are peaceful, you must still include the "Islam factor" in any analysis and planning.

While attempting to understand the culture and motivations of our enemies, and the enemies of the peaceful Muslims as well, it would be a deadly mistake to ignore their faith as a factor.

Those of you, like Aimster and Sensecamp, who propose to leave Islam out of the equation entirely, will never be able to make a fully informed plan of action to combat the problem. The faith of our enemies is too important a factor to ignore!

So, as long as one remembers that they do not represent the Muslim majority, it is perfectly acceptable to discuss their being Muslim.
