Things kooky Carson said.

Women who get abortions are like slaveholders
Obamacare is the worst thing since slavery
‘Hitler’ could happen in the U.S. today - He may be right!
Jews could have prevented the Holocaust if they had guns
College campuses should be monitored for liberal political speech
Muslims should be disqualified from the presidency
There’s a war on ‘what’s inside of women’
Being gay is a choice because prison turns people gay
There’s no such thing as a war crime
Obama is depressing the economy to keep people on welfare
Obama signed immigration reform to bring in government-dependent voters
Anarchy could cancel the 2016 election - well.

As stupid as Carson's statement was...and the noble defenders are, in a way, he IS right. The slaves of yesterday were immigrants...involuntary immigrants...BUT, that's where the semi-accuracy ends.
Those folks who were ripped from their homes and families, chained, thrown in the holds of ships to be sold to greedy plantation owners...didn't "work harder and longer" to get ahead...they were at the mercy of their owners...and worked as long and hard as they were required...and it was often enforced by brutal means.

Since history says the first African slaves arrived here in 1619, and slavery didn't actually end until 1865 in some parts of the USA, I really doubt the original groups of slaves had any "hopes and dreams" of making a better life for themselves or their children. MAYBE hopes and dreams of seeing their families and homes again...but I'm pretty sure those hopes and dreams died pretty quickly...and their descendents who were born and died as slaves...probably didn't have hopes and dreams past living through tomorrow.

To me, calling slavery "immigration" is like calling rape "a casual hookup," since it damned sure wasn't consensual.

Ben Carson is one stupid, ignant edumakated Black man...

Some slave owners set up plantations in places like Cuba after the civil war.

Conspiracy? Are you conspiring to misconstrue my words and intentions?

At the end of the day I don't think this should be made a prominent storyline or that he should be removed because of it. I maintain the guy sounded like a fool. No amount of whatever it is y'all are trying at will change my mind or change that what he said was asinine.

The conspiracy part was directed towards another poster. I agree, it's not headline worthy but I disagree that it makes him sound like a fool. Seems we are at an impasse...

What's so kooky about that?
I dunno, something about it being a form of discrimination that's considered illegal in the Constitution?

But hey, who cares about the Constitution when you're making America great again by protecting from those dastardly evil Muslims?

Thinking that something which is unconstitutional (disqualifying someone based on their religion) as acceptable is kooky.

Proof? The constitution forbade women and blacks from voting not so long ago. Regressives are constantly talking about the 2nd amendment no longer being relevant or applicable etc.

Also, please cite the relevant part of the constitution applicable to presidential candidates not being allowed to voice their opinions.

No one said he couldn't, just like no one said we can't point out that he's kooky AF (to use the parlance of our times).

What in the world are you going on about?

Since nowhere in Article II, Section 1 is it laid out that religion disqualifies someone from being President, disqualifying someone for being Muslim is unconstitutional.

Not at any point did I say or insinuate that Carson speaking his mind was unconstitutional.

Can you not read?

Except we were talking about kookiness, not constitutionality. Maybe i'm mistaken. Did Carson state that it was prohibited by the constitution? I thought he was just stating his personal opinion.

How is his opinion not kooky?

Would these opinions not be considered kooky (strange)?: "Black people should be disqualified from becoming president", or "Women should be disqualified from becoming president", or "Poor people should be disqualified from becoming president"

Lol. Being black, female or poor = muslim. I can think of a few ways they're different. I guess it's because i'm insane.

People saying Trump isn't fit to be president must have missed the part about him being a naturally born citizen. Fair enough. He missed that part too.
