In 1883 Henry Ziegland decided to break up with his girlfriend. His girlfriend, who apparently didn't handle rejection very well, was so distressed that she committed suicide. Her brother decided to avenge her death. He rounded up Ziegland, and then proceeded to shoot him and then himself.

Little did the brother realise the bullet had only skimmed Henry, lodging itself in a tree behind him. He lived a normal life for another 20 years until Henry decided it was time to take down the tree that took a bullet for him.

By this time, the tree was quite large, and since chainsaws weren't an option in 1883, the prefered method of removal was dynamite.

Henry detonated the dynamite, which in turn caused the the same bullet from 20 years earlier to fly into his head and kill him.

Two women were on a hike and got caught in a heavy downpour one evening. They called for help, were rescued by an off-duty firefighter, returned to their car, and sent off on their way.

Not being familiar with the roads and encountering a heavy fog, they made a wrong turn that lead to a boat ramp and drove into the ocean. Both the women (one was pregnant) and their dog drowned.

Yeah 😀 The story freaked me out so much I posted it. It's actually true, verified by a number of sources.

What particular drugs were these "sources" high on? So much fail in this story I can only assume you are trolling.

For starters even if this did happen (which it didn't) how can they be sure there weren't more bullets in the tree and one of those killed him.

Doesn't the beginning of "Magnolia" have a bunch of stories like this?

The bullet was destined for Henry, and was only temporarily halted in its path toward that destiny by the intervening tree. Once he removed the tree, the fated projectile was free to continue its fatal flight.

This forum cracks me up with all the nitpicking. Why is everyone so skeptical?

I find this at least as believable as OP being accosted by a member of the village people for not accelerating fast enough at a traffic light. Both great stories imo, would read again.

this is amazing. 😱

You don't see the protrusion in his cheek due to his tongue pressing against it?

Forensic analysis was top notch in the late 1800s. The aerial digital photo you see in the OP was taken at the crime scene as well.

He would have to have placed the dynamite in the opposite side of it's entrance path, then been standing in an exact spot for it to hit him, plus, the tree would have grown over the spot where the bullet was lodged in it anyway.
