I'm so fucking sick of hearing about this. I'm not a Patriots fan by any means but how can you guys manage to spin this only on Belichek? It's absolutely ridiculous. BOTH sides got onto the field, including some fans, and Belichek/Coughling exchanged words, then that was it. Why the hell would a coach stay on the field to watch the team who just beat him celebrate? Once you shake hands it's done. It was just a weird situation.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think that everyone who keeps trying to blow this out of proportion are only the people who watch just the Super Bowl and no other football ever. Get the fuck over it.
But think of the children..Bwuahahahaha

do you ever go outside? go get some air.
Keep stirring Mosh, it's what you are good at.
that is laughable coming from you. i mean really, you just love harassing me (and anyone who doesn't see it your way). get a better hobby. ;)

Yeah, sorry, but you and all the rest are just grasping at straws. He already will be labeled as a jerk for ever more, so it doesn't really matter what he does. I don't like the man much at all, but there was nothing wrong with what he did. Set an example? Yeah, because walking off the field after you've basically had the wind knocked out of you is so much worse than cheating, or dressing like a hobo, or being an a-hole. Please, people need to stop with this "set an example, be a role model" crap.

go ahead and give him a free pass, but kids across America watched the Super Bowl and asked their parents why Belichick left the field before the game was over.
i guess when the going gets tough they should do like Belichick did and just leave rather than finish it out.

there were plenty of kids watching at the party i was at, and not one even noticed that he was on the field, since they were running around making fun of adults that bet them money and lost. i think the role model stance is weak at best.

On Saturday, the Boston Herald reported that an unidentified source said a member of the Patriots' video staff taped the St. Louis Rams' last walkthrough before they played in the 2002 Super Bowl. The Patriots beat the favored Rams the next day 20-17 for their first NFL title

Nice troll attempt again. Too bad the Commissioner has already commented on the fact that this allegation was investigated months ago and there was no evidence of such an occurrence.

Kind of funny how that finesse passing team destroyed that number one defense you hailed that the Steelers had.

I remember you used to defend yourself about not being a troll. Your ignorance is sad.

18*-0-1 forfeit?
18*-1 (forfeit) ?

A forfeit is a loss you old fart. No asterisk, nothing special.

I think the asterisk is for the cheating scandal. ;)

Considering Belichick's past problems with handshakes at the end of a game - even games he won - I think he made a point to go and shake hands no matter what. At that point in the game I think that determination to suck it up and go shake hands had overridden his awareness that the game might not be completely over and he set out to do what was probably really hard for him to do. Obviously it wasn't the best thing he could have done but given the circumstances it could have been worse. It ended up being a bit sore loserish but I'm sure it was just because he just really wasn't thinking straight (or at all) at the time. I mean come on, the shock of losing the Superbowl despite having the 'greatest NFL team of all time'?

and where did all the stats you were posting get your team, alitard? certainly not a win against the pats and certainly not a superbowl game.

i never claimed they were the greatest team ever as that's a useless arguement with the difference in eras.

the giants outplayed and outcoached the pats= pats lose.

unlike you and your steeler fan club, when we lose, i don't go looking for stats that the pats won in and say "well, if it wasn't for 3 or 4 plays and if this had happened or that had happened, we would have won."

alitard, heh.

This thread sucks, and not because of the original content, but the stupid flamewar it degenerated into... This is an OFF TOPIC forum, and people are complaining about this? Holy shit, you see threads about cakes and pies, and you flame someone for bringing this out?

Yeah no shit, the Pats lost because they were outplayed. To be the best you have to beat the best and the Giants did that, not the Squeelers, not the Chargers, not the Colts, The New York Football Giants..The Champioins of the NFL.

Gosh, the Patriots fans on here sure don't know how to handle the loss, huh?

nobody is defending the loss. they desrved it. they were outplayed.

what people are saying is that getting on him for this is retarded. there are a lot other things to complain about. not the fact he walked off the field (after time ran out and shaking hands).

this whole thread started out b/c i thought his excuse of saying, "I wasn't really sure of the time" was lame. too bad everyone lost sight of that.
Yeah right, I thought it was about the Children:roll:

It could have been the time....we had a guy at work once leave at 3:45pm because when he asked if anyone knew if it was 5 yet another said 'yeah, 15 past actually'. Dude walked out went to his car and called us when he got home saying he didn't mean to leave an hour early.

We were hysterial.

We now call 3:45pm, 5pm AST (artie standard time).

as disappointing as it is to see them lose the SB (and props to the g-men for their play), it's nice to know the pats are still stacked, moss wants to return, no salary cap woes and the 7th overall pick coming up.

things could be worse.

Belichick is a poor sport loser. No question about it. That interview at the end of the game with him, where he barely acknowledged that they lose fair and square to the Giants, is still placed firmly in people's minds.

On another note in the media, Eli bangs Gisele! ;)

Uh, what? Why don't you quit lying.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3234049

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday at the Pro Bowl that the NFL is willing to give former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh legal indemnification for any information and materials he would provide to the league regarding his work with the Patriots.

"From Day 1, I said if we feel there is new information that's inconsistent with what we've been told [by the Patriots], I reserve the right to reopen it."

What Goodell said was they couldn't find any evidence on the taping in the previous investigation. BUT, he also said that the Patriots only turned over SIX tapes and they most likely had recorded over the tapes before.

Asked why the Patriots turned over six tapes, he replied: "That's what they had. My guess is they taped over some of those from time to time ... their notes were reflective of that."

Well DUH. That game was in 2002!!!! No shit they've already destroyed the tapes or flat out just not given everything to the NFL. You'd be a stupid blind pats fanboy to think they only taped a few games and didn't tape a walk-through if they had the opportunity. Don't be an idiot.

Lying? You obviously didn't hear his speech at the Super Bowl. Nor read your link completely.

Quoted from your link:

"We've had people come to us over the last six months with material that we pursued and it didn't lead to anything."

"We were aware of this before," Goodell said. "We pursued it and weren't able to get any information that was credible. We were aware of some of the rumors and we pursued some of them and we continue that. From Day 1, I said if we feel there is new information that's inconsistent with what we've been told [by the Patriots], I reserve the right to reopen it.

And that people are still trying to crucify Belichick for this.
