So you're saying than Guinness Draught and Pilsner Urquell don't freeze when put in the freezer?

Otherwise, you're just relying on the luck of the can holding under extreme pressure. Try popping open one of your ice-cold beers and you may be in for a surprise. The freezing point of beer is lower than water because of the alcohol in it, but freezers still go lower than the freezing temp of beer.

Throw a six-pack of Pepsis in the freezer and none might explode or they all might explode. But, you wouldn't be able to open them right away out of the freezer and drink them.

I'm drinking it right now. This is my 2nd frozen one tonight, about to pop open a third.

No chance in hell. I've seen those blow up way to often.

Don't you mean you don't have a life? Hell, I think I started sticking beers in freezers my freshmen year in highschool. Buckets of ice and water are much better but that isn't always available.

Dude, that only works if you have like 2 friends and are a lightweight.

If you put almost any beer into a freezer it will be slush, plain and simple. Not to mention it may explode. This is of course unless your freezer sucks. I especially wouldn't put anything glass containing a liquid in the freezer.

Not to mention I'm not going to be drinking any finer brew if I'm going to go and get sh!tfaced. It's just too expensive for 20+ of a good brew. If I'm looking for a nice buzz, a 12 pack of brew and a good glass mug goes a long way, and you definitely don't need to freeze your beers.

Beer freezing is an old Canuck tradition.

Supposed to encourage man love during the unfreezing process or something :)

My freezer is very cold, Guiness never explodes, and it takes about 20 seconds to dethaw a rock solid beer under a faucet.

I would say it depends on:
a. the temperature of your freezer
b. the percent alcohol in the beer

The higher either of those numbers the less likely they are to freeze....

How else can you enjoy Guiness if you're not at the pub?

Guiness in a bottle (with the whiteneck) > Guiness in a Can

No, and I've never experienced that.
