That's definitely good news. would have been better if he played here earlier in his career.

Yeah that's it. The premiere player in the world at the time coming to play in a country where no one cares about his trade or craft.

That would have been a great idea for him...

He was never even close the premiere player in the world, and now he can't even get a game for a major team, he's done. Which explains the move.

He was once the _richest_ player in the world though, possibly the richest player of any sport, not just football.

I think this is great, I hope the MLS succeeds here in the USA. I really enjoy watching European soccer, the Champions League and World Cup in particular. I'd love for the MLS to get somewhere near the level of Europe.

I don't really care if Beckham is over the hill or not. The man has played at the highest level. This will bring a lot of attention to the MLS. Hopefully, that will lead to more star players (over the hill or not) to the MLS. I'm sure Beckham at half of his potential is still better than most MLS players. Let's be honest here, MLS is not that good. I really see no negative to this.

Okay, Beckham is falling into the same patterns as typical US athletes. He signs the largest contract in US sports ($/year, I know like A-Rod's contract is $252, but across 10 years), then goes on interview proclaiming that the signing wasn't about the money. It's quite a sight if you can find the clip or replay of Cold Pizza's Dana Jacobson asking him a follow-up question if he would have signed for less or give some of the money back. The expression on his face said loud and clear, "I want every penny of that $250 million."

never heard of this team till now😛 i've heard of some england teams ....and i'm in california😛 so dunno how much this is really going to help
