I think this is a great news for the MLS. I might be inclined to watch some games now. He hasn't been getting any playing time with Real Madrid. Maybe more stars will follow this route and come to the US. :thumbsup:

Just on a celebrity level, he is bound to generate a lot of interest which will translate to more viewership for the MLS.

He has lost a lot of speed, but is still deadly accurate, and could still play pretty much anywhere in the world, so it'll be entertaining to have him in the MLS.

This is the shot MLS has been craving for since its inception. MLS can't contain any young stars because they all want to leave to play in Europe. Starpower is what's going to save the MLS and make it prosper.

I think he meant the English national team.

Probably a good move for Becks and MLS - he would have struggled to get a top club in England to buy him (although my club, Spurs were linked with him). He'll be good for the sport in the US and should have enough left in the tank to more than hold his own
