The bear versus mountain lion was interesting. Basically you know the bear can get where it wants to get and do what it wants to do. Mountain lion: "yeah, but it's gonna hurt and cost you a lot... you think that's a good bargain?" Bear: "uh, think I'll go find me some salmon or something".

That's why a pack of wolves won't mess with bears either. Yeah sure they can take him down, eventually - but wild animals are not pit bulls or Jihadis and go for safe kills. Because a broken leg means death.

If most bears "fight" like that stupid idiot bear who tried to head-butt the cougar, I'm gonna give advantage to a 1500 lb moose with some antlers. Head butting bears aren't very scary.

I go up to Eagle lake in Ontario fishing once or twice a year depending...my bubby owns a lodge there so I get a good deal better earlier in season...anyway there was frkn snow in June one time and colder than witches tit. Sleet was coming down too. I'm like fuck this and only come mid July or later now.
I bet the mosquitoes there in July are unbelievable.
