look at the power it has dragging that carcass. I would guess at least 800 pounds of dead weight there.

Unfortunately he's right. You don't want those things anywhere near people. Especially if they find food on your property.

A guy who worked for my dad came face to face with one on a job they were doing up near Sault St. Marie 13 years ago. Got into the office trailer. Turns out one of the locals restaurant owners was feeding it scraps. The Ministry of Natural Resources had to come and trap the thing. We have a picture of it in the cage somewhere. I think the government relocates them rather than putting them down. The problem is, once they find a food source, they're likely to come back. Big problem around garbage dumps north of Toronto. You really have to be careful.

Unfortunately he's right. You don't want those things anywhere near people. Especially if they find food on your property.

I don't think a bear finding an old moose in a fairly isolated part of the country can be equated with feeding bears table scraps.
