Meh. Nothing snobby about liking a smooth and interesting coffee roast and brewing it an ultra low tech $15 french press.

But hate away!

This. Honestly the biggest snobs are the Keurig fanboys, they're the like the Apple fanboys of the coffee world. They get a shiny machine that's mildly more convenient and rave about how awesome it is despite the insane price gouging on the k-cups and the average-tasting coffee. But whatever makes'em happy I guess.

Dry processed Ethiopian. It's a much lighter colored bean,, almost orange'y in color. Just go to a local bean roaster and see if they have it.

And I'm also a sucker for Starbucks whole bean Blonde Roast if it's fresh ground and done in a french press. Soooooo smooth.

Just ordered 2lbs.

GF just introduced me to the french press.

I really enjoy Costa Rica La Cascada Tarrazu from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

It's not snobby. It's the same with drinking good beer. Life is to short to waste it drinking bad stuff just because its cheap

figured i should have asked for recommendations. I usually get folgers classic roast. I like the lighter ones. any CHEAPER recommendations?

As far as chain store coffee, I really like the "blonde roast" from starbucks.

At the house we have standard 8 o'clock arabica that we grind. There's usually some brand of colombian bean as well laying around. I enjoy colombian the most.

I need to pick up some 8 o'clock beans myself, have a grinder and just haven't lately.

Kenya AA has always been my favorite. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is another one I like a lot. They're both very different in taste.

Have you tried Tanzania peaberry? Very similar to the Kenya AA (next country over), though lower in acidity. It's usually roasted a bit lighter as well. Kenya AA used to be my go-to bean, but I've switched over. Tasty stuff. 🙂

Folgers Classic Roast. Occasionally I'll pick up a nice blend from the local supermarket chain (HEB). Some of them are really good.

I really like Kona, and especially Jamaican Blue Mountain but haven't had either for a long time. JBM is just too expensive.

8 O'Clock coffees are only $4.98 for an 11 oz bag at the local Walmart. I'm drinking a cup of the Colombian right now.

The price may have come back down then....it used to be $4.50 here...then was $5.50....then a bunch of places put it next to Starbucks, Seattle's Best, etc...and priced them all about the same. I actually started buying it at Dollar General when the price was low, but Amazon isn't bad...they ship me 2 big bags a month and I don't worry about coffee for the month....easily less than $1/day.

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is top top top top notch
Otherwise, I Love medium roasted sumatra (dark roasts IMO too much taste burned.)

I usually buy "Coffee Bean Direct" Through Amazon. I have been extremely pleased with their coffees, though there is a local roaster in the area that does make better brews.

Also, Kona coffee is awesome too, for when you want subtle, and smooth coffee...
