Bama is so fvcking overrated. They beat a Div-AA caliber Utah St. 35-3. Heck a crappy team like toledo would put up atleast 60 pts against Utah St.

Well, IMO the whole SEC is rather mediocre this year. LSU will lose to Bama. Bama is definately over-rated but LSU is not that good either.

Are you kidding me? The Sec? Mediocre? Put the crack pipe down. What the SEC lacks in "Offense" they more than make up for in Pure Raw Speed coupled with Dynamic Defense. Show me some teams than can compete (exceptions being IMO Miami and VT) on the field with the best of the SEC D's. All the hoopla gets around about the mid-west and west coast teams for their flashy offense. But remember my friend, Offense wins games, Defense wins Championships (although in USC's case, that point might be moot.)

you make an argument, then proceed to invalidate that argument. way to debate.

Care to explain how I invalidated my own argument? Oh, and it wasn't much of a debate I was going for, I was simply stating that the SEC and Mediocre don't belong in the same sentance together-

Compared to what conference?

Compared to itself. The SEC as a whole just seems "down" this year.

Well, there just isn't a break out team. Everyone is so evenly matched that it's hard for any one team to stand out. But, let's be serious here, the SEC is by far the most competitive conference in college football. The ACC comes close, but they really only have one great team, and 2 realy good teams. The rest of the conferences are pathetic.

That's no different than the ACC. Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and UGA sit on the top of the heap with maybe Florida not far behind. The SEC West Division is atrocious after Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. The SEC East Division isn't much better after UGA and Florida.

Exactly why I said the SEC as a whole seems down. UGA never should have lost to UF. South Carolina beat UT in Knoxville, etc... The SEC is tied with the Big 10 as my favorite conferences but neither conference seems "right" this year.

Agreed. In the coming years, I'd love to see some ACC teams gain foothold and become powerhouses. With BC coming into the ACC it has raised it's stock considerably IMO. Currently, the SEC is where the consistently good football is-

UGA is not the same team without Shockley. That's why they lost to UF....well, that and Richt calling an ultra-conservative game.

South Carolina beating UT in Knoxville was a new low for a program on the slide this year. It was funny to see UT fans with brown bags over their heads at the end of the game. On another note about this game, the Volunteer Offensive Coordinator resigned today.

Part of UT's problem is the complete lack o discipline I've seen. They commit stupid penalties with horrid timing. Just a complete lack of discipline, that all falls on Fulmber's XXXL shoulders.

The ACC is a great conference, but... I have a feeling that FSU is going to continue to deteriorate as Bowden gets older (they will never fire him). That leaves Va Tech and Miami as their only teams that ever have a chance to go to national championships. BC is consistently overrated imho. They will come up with a good victory here or there, but they can't consistently win.

USC has the same computer rating as last week, so the couple of votes they picked up in the polls helped them get back to first.

Bama will not lose to LSU...not in Tuscaloosa. They won't get the freebie calls they're used to at Tiger Stadium (the calls they need in order to win).

Since 1996, Alabama is 3-2 @ LSU, but only 1-3 against LSU at home.

Fresno state #24 in the BCS w00t :D

It would be great if they were the one who will knock of USC. Thats if Cal are UCLA doesn't do it first.

somewhat unlikely :p

It will happen. Nover 19 is USC's judgement day. They will fall to the hands of the mighty bulldogs of Fresno State.

Nov. 10 will be Fresno's Judgement day as they fall to the might Broncos. Live it. Learn it.

wow, the computers now rank tech tie #2 with USC. i believe Texas's ranking with the computers will drop with the computers as they play the rest of the games compare to USC or Tech.

Yeah, we have been beating Alabama in Tuscy for a few years now. We play them better there than at home.

As far as the ref comment goes....You're an idiot. LSU constantly plays against the refs and is one of the most penalized teams in NCAAF. Come on Allbarn, let's think these things out before typing them out.

Reminds me of the fedex commercial, "We dont get french benefits?!"

the computers "should" have dropped them this week as they played a mediocre ok state team but instead they got even better. those computers are very fickle creatures.

USC and Texas played teams of equal mediocreness, and their computer ratings stayed about the same. Virginia Tech played a good team and moved up.

If VT beats Miami this weekend, I bet they get awfully close to Texas in the BCS.

They may be one of the most penalized teams in the NCAA but the officiating was horrible for the AU/LSU game and it definately benefitted LSU. That first TD on the punt return never should have counted unless you just ignored the blatant hold in front of the ref. The LSU blocker damn near pulled the jersey off the AU gunner.
