So, being the dork that I am, I went ahead and computed the BCS rankings for the week ending 10/2. There is no Wolfe computer poll yet, but this will give everyone a good idea what to expect when the rankings are released in two weeks.

link to rankings PDF

Only teams that received votes in the Harris poll are listed in the PDF.

The computers love Michigan, Oregon and Notre Dame. They hate LSU and West Virginia.

Here is the top 15:

1. Ohio State .9992
2. USC .9406
3. Auburn .8784
4. Michigan .8574
5. Florida .8541
6. Louisville .7038
7. West Virginia .6973
8. Oregon .6902
9. Notre Dame .6323
10. Georgia .6063
11. Texas .6036
12. LSU .5423
13. Oklahoma .4916
14. Tennessee .4649
15. California .3585

Enjoy and feel free to distribute. And let the flaming begin.. :D

That is probably due to the fact that LSU's wins have come from teams with rankings of 53, 92, 94 and 100 (out of 119 Div-1A schools).

They lost to the only highly ranked team they've played (Auburn @ 3).

we could possibly see TWO #1 vs #2 games in the regular season this year.

if OSU and UofM go unbeaten, it could be very interesting if any other top team loses if UofM can pull out the #2 spot.

I like USC but I think Auburn is a better team..well at this point. Maybe at the end of the season USC will be better but that's to be seen.

Right.. Which is two weeks from now.. Which I stated in the post.

This PDF represents the exact same numbers, sans the Wolfe poll which is not available yet.

I'd like to state that Notre Dame sucks and is terribly overrated.

That is all.

I'm hoping for an OSU - USC championship game, that would be nice!

I like Auburn, but they still have several tough games, that conference is soo tough, same is true for Florida.

OSU's only tough game left is Michigan - and the game is in Columbus this year - Michigan still has to play at Penn St as well

USC will be tested by Cal and Oregon.

The winner of the W.Virginia/Louisville game could make things interesting for the BCS process as well.

Good season so far!

When Auburn beats Florida & Georgia, there's no way the team up north leapfrogs us.
