I think if Musberger says 'honeybadger' one more time I'm going to puke
Oh, you mean I missed a chance to hear Musberger call a blowout? Lucky I don't have subscription TV.
Big Alabama fan I know said "we backed into the championship game." Guess LSU is really as bad as they looked in that other game, the one where they stank the first half and only pulled it out at the end. They really should have a tournament to decide the national championship. The BCS stuff has to go. The NCAA basketball tournament is so much better in terms of being a reasonable competition.
That's definitely better than the debate over whether 2 teams from the same division should be playing in the title game. Or whether #2, #3 or perhaps even #4 in a subjective ranking formula is deserving of being in that game. However, a playoff probably wouldn't have settled this any better. LSU would have beat Stanford, and Alabama would have beat Oklahoma State. Then we would end up with this same game.

Sorry your team sucked so bad, get over it.
lol@this abortion
i hope they got terrible ratings and they realize they should never do this again
LSU and Alabama played a weak schedule as the SEC was down this year. Neither team would have survived the 3rd and 4th ranked teams because neither had a threat to score on offense. The latter pair of teams had plenty of firepower to score. The only way to avoid exposing the SEC was to avoid competition. Look at South Carolina, they somehow got matched to play a weak Nebraska team when they deserved a top ten opponent if the SEC was so good.
The main problem with a 4 team playoff is that Boise State will still get relegated to some No Name game through no major fault of its own.
The BCS Championship isn't about whether or not you lost a game, it's about putting the 2 best teams against each other.

I'm interested to see last night's ratings.
The four BCS bowls--the Rose, Orange, Sugar and Fiesta--drew a average rating of 10.9, well below last season's combined average of 13.9.
Yeah the game sucked (second half was better), but I don't see why everyone hates the BCS this year in particular.
Just because a team lost a game, they should not be eliminated from the title game.
I don't give a crap if they didn't win their division... it's because LSU did and it was their only loss!

Alabama appeared to be greatly better (we will never know for sure) than Oregon,Arkansas, Standford, etc. I'm glad they got into the Championship game and won.

It looks like bowl ratings have been down across the board this season. Pulled the following from LA Times:
Does anyone remember if the national championship was on cable last year as well? If not then I'm sure the ratings are not going to fare well in comparison. It may very well go down as the most watched cable program though.
Shaun Alexander's tweet really summed it up for me. I think it was something to the effect of:
"A lot of people love Football. In Alabama we live it." Take what you want from that.
Maybe they have it right down there - life is short, enjoy it. It's better to work at a 7/11 and live in a trailer with a roommate, hang out with your friends playing poker and wathcing UFC every night, and live for college football Saturdays than to get stuck with a boring "real" job that takes up 50-60 hours a week and allows you no time for friends and family.
