BCS = BS

Which is even more sickening considering voters kept OU high in the pre-season after their meltdown last year. Losses to KSU and LSU to end their season. Auburn gets fvcked because Bob Stoops whined like a girl. ESPN was putting pressure on the system and he started to cry. At least Pete Caroll just lets the crap system work itself out. Oh, I know there is another thread, but so what?

REPOST!! 😛

It sucks for both Auburn and Cal. I hope they seriously consider a playoff system when this BCS contract is up in a few years.

OU was ranked high due to returning a whole ton of proven players and having a guy people thought would be a bad ass running back.

The question is how long should the playoff season be? These ARE students that are playing and they gotta take their finals eventually....

Even with out of conference weaklings, Auburn had the toughest schedule of the top three according to NCAA strength of schedule rankings.

Blame the schedule? Auburn defeated 3 Top-15 teams in 4 games (UT twice) with 3 of those games away from home.

Interesting that the computers don't factor in last season, but yet they also have Auburn third. And there is no way you can argue that Auburn had a tougher schedule than USC. Oklahoma, maybe.

hahah as much as i agree that Auburn got hosed, i dont see how Bob Stoops had anything to do with the outcome

why would the computers factor in last season? This season has nothing to do with last season. 😕

Well according to the BCS computers, they had the 3rd toughest of the three.

ESPN commentators backed off the Auburn bandwagon for the most part after Stoops started whining that ESPN and the SEC were in league together. The only one who really stuck to his guns was Trev Alberts and he's a huge Big 12 fanboy.

I agree that the whole BCS system sucks. Anything less than some sort of a playoff is simply stupid, no matter how many times they keep "tweaking" the bcs to try and make it better.

That said, stop trying to discredit OU and stop whining about Stoops. The fact is that you could make a valid argument for USC, OU and AU to be in the championship. All three are undefeated, and all three have great players/teams. Because of the sucky BCS system, one of the three will get screwed out of a championship shot, and it happened to be AU. Don't blame OU, they deserve a shot as much as anyone, as does USC, and as does Auburn.

my point exactly. if auburn had scheduled average teams (not even good teams) instead of the "out-of-conference weaklings", they would be going to the orange bowl.

"Because of the sucky BCS system, one of the three will get screwed out of a championship shot, "

With or without BCS, there isn't a way for 3 teams to play in the same game.

I want to see a Football Game at the Orange Bowl, not a massacre...

All hail BCS, All hail BCS. IMHO this could be the best Championship game since OH-Miami, even though USC's D will win the game.

So Stoops was right for calling ESPN biased and saying they were in bed with Auburn? How low will OU fans go? You think it is ok to undermine the journalistic integrity of them? They've give their opinion, and that opinion shouldn't make coaches ACCUSE them of having a financial reason for making said opinion. Stoops cried like a little bitch.

Uh-huh. USC hasn't had a D all year, so I guess they are going to borrow Auburn's? OU wins in the Orange. You can bet on that.

Team Passing Defence

USC:#21 (Auburn #9, we could play better pass defence I guess, but we have OU beat by a big distance either way)
OU: #52

Team Rushing Defence

USC:#2 (Auburn #10, we are better in this aspect)
OU:#8

Team Scoring Defence

USC: #2 (Auburn #1, we dont need to borrow anything from AU again, our offense more than makes up 😉 )
Ou: #6

Team Total Defence

USC:#6 (Auburn #4, better than ours but we definetely dont need to borrow anything from them )

OU: #15

I'd say USC has the defence 😉

Well place Auburn in the Big 12, and they wouldnt be undefeated. OU, Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M are all top 25 teams. Anyone that cant see OU is the best football team in the country needs their eyes checked.

Their star running back will break the single season 100 yard game total in the Orange, their QB should win his second heismen, and oh yeah their defense has allowed a total of 6 points, in their last 3 GAMES. Now if you want to say Auburn should replace USC? Maybe, but OU no way.

Bet me 50 dollars that USC beats OU. I will put 50 on OU right now, and we can get a neutral party to do the transaction. PlatinumGold bet me on LSU/UGA last year, so you can bet me on this game this year. I don't need to manipulate stats to know that OU is the better team.
