All hail BCS, All hail BCS. IMHO this could be the best Championship game since OH-Miami, even though USC's D will win the game.

Uh-huh. USC hasn't had a D all year, so I guess they are going to borrow Auburn's? OU wins in the Orange. You can bet on that.

Team Passing Defence

USC:#21 (Auburn #9, we could play better pass defence I guess, but we have OU beat by a big distance either way)
OU: #52

Team Rushing Defence

USC:#2 (Auburn #10, we are better in this aspect)
OU:#8

Team Scoring Defence

USC: # (Auburn #1, we dont need to borrow anything from AU again, our offense more than makes up ;) )
Ou: #6

Team Total Defence

USC:#6 (Auburn #4, better than ours but we definetely dont need to borrow anything from them )

OU: #15

I'd say USC has the defence ;)

All three are undefeated, and all three have great players/teams. Because of the sucky BCS system, one of the three will get screwed out of a championship shot, and it happened to be AU. Don't blame OU, they deserve a shot as much as anyone, as does USC, and as does Auburn.

So Stoops was right for calling ESPN biased and saying they were in bed with Auburn? How low will OU fans go? You think it is ok to undermine the journalistic integrity of them? They've give their opinion, and that opinion shouldn't make coaches ACCUSE them of having a financial reason for making said opinion. Stoops cried like a little bitch.

Actually I watch ESPN, Espn to my knowledge has ever said Auburn should be in over OU, but there were several that said they though OU and Auburn should play.

Well according to the BCS computers, they had the 3rd toughest of the three.

Well place Auburn in the Big 12, and they wouldnt be undefeated. OU, Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M are all top 25 teams. Anyone that cant see OU is the best football team in the country needs their eyes checked.

Their star running back will break the single season 100 yard game total in the Orange, their QB should win his second heismen, and oh yeah their defense has allowed a total of 6 points, in their last 3 GAMES. Now if you want to say Auburn should replace USC? Maybe, but OU no way.

LSU, Tenn, UGA, and then Tenn again are top 25 teams. Thing is, NO ONE deserved to be left out.

Hmmmm lets see, what conference does OU play in? Oh thats right, the ALWAYS extremely competitve Big 12 that has who? Yes Texas Tech, who WILL throw ANYONES pass d out of whack. Yes OU weak spot is pass d but those rankings are based on statistics that cant really be compared fairly.

Funny, I never said OU had a better D. I said USC doesn't have a good D, and they don't. You will see that in the game.

Its not the BCS' fault its the AD's, Deans, and Presidents of D-I A colleges. DI-AA, DII and DIII all have playoff systems as does every other sport. The BCS is doing the best they can with what they are given.

Maybe it was ABC, or some other station then, but there were several people calling for an OU-Auburn matchup through most of Nov.

lets see everyone team in the PAC 10 plays the west coast offence, its always pass first and then run, anyway, i agree comparing just numbers doesnt give the true picture

Personally I'd love to see a playoff. There would certainly be a mid-major knock of an opponent or two.

Id like to see.

USC vs Boise State
OU vs Louisville
Auburn vs Utah
Texas vs Cal

Winner of 1 vs Winner of 4
Winner of 2 vs Winner of 3

I'd say USC having a better 'defence' is reaching at best.

Lets see here. Im going to add some of these, things we like to call 'numbers' to your post.

Passing D USC 188.8 yds/game OU 206.8 yds/game margin 18 yds/gm

Rushing D USC 81.9 yds/game OU 94.6 yds/game margin 12.7 yds/gm

Team Scoring D USC 11.5 OU 14.6 margin 3.1 points.

Team Total D USC 270.73 yds/game OU 301.45 margin 30.72 yds/gm

do you see signficant leads in any category?

if AU has beaten so many better teams and plays in a much better conference, (ignoring their OOC puf pufs), how come not even a single bcs computer has them over SC or OU

If you compare the teams they are all good.

Auburn and USC averaged over 33 points this year, and they played #4 Cal(Scoring D) #3 Va. Tech, #10 Alabama, #11 LSU, and #13 UGA.

OU played #14 Texas and #23 Missouri.

Now, does that not show AU/USC would be a good matchup as well?

Theres not to many teams in college football that routinely put up 500+ yard 5+ TD games like Tech. Tech has been doing this for 3 years now. They'd be able to do it against anyone, its the system they play. Sure the west coast offense racks up more passing than rushing, but it doesnt come close to Tech.

Billingsley - Auburn behind 2 points.
Wolfe - Auburn behind .3 points
Colley - Auburn behind .2 points
Massey- Auburn behind .15 points
Anderson/Hester - Auburn behind .11
Sagarin - Auburn behind 3 points

Suffice to say, if Auburn would not have had Bowling Green stolen away from them they'd be 2nd in the computers, and maybe second in the human polls.

Perhaps. I find it silly that people say Auburn had a weak schedule. I'd like to see USC or OU beat, UGA, UT, UT, LSU, and Alabama. None of those are cupcake teams.

Yeah and when Tenn gets its ass handed to it, maybe the Big 12 will get the respect it deserves. Sure A&M, Tech and OSU are 7-4 but they could easily take out LSU, UGA, or UTenn.
