Yeah these video card prices are just wait too high, $250 is the most I can justify paying for a video card. Most I ever paid for a card was $200 for my 9800 pro last december.

you guys have a glass half empty attitude. So you have your 9800pro and you can sell that for $170, that would make the X800 cost about $250 (after tax). Sell the X800 next year for $250 and you haven't really spent anything. ;)

Btw, this deal is not all that hot ... you can get a Sapphire VIVO (1.6ns) for less online and eliminate the guesswork.
I just picked one up for $419.50 total (including $12.50 2nd day air, shipped same day). That ATI X800 at CUSA would have run me $419.99 total (after 5% sales tax).

what makes you think the Sapphire can't be modded to an XT? I just modded a Sapphire Toxic X800Pro (VIVO) to a 16pipe XT yesterday. This one should be no different (since it has 1.6ns ram).

RacerX, what about the money you bought the 9800 Pro with? ;) You're right though, it's more like an ongoing $200 investment every two years.

Your tax may vary. You can get a guaranteed VIVO on-line for cheaper and it comes with CS: Source! Komusatech has those. Z-Buy also has OEM Sapphires for $398 shipped.

That's the first account I've read of that happening. It was a hardware failure, plain and simple; he should RMA the card and get a new one.

BTW, there are many others who have had ZERO issues with the softmod.

Too bad he cant. He violated the warranty with the bios mod.
