I was playing against a guy a while back who was killing me left and right and I asked him how he was pulling some of those off while I was in cover (or so I thought) and he actually sent me a message telling me it was this driver editor. I didnt take the time to look into it and figured it was just turning down the foliage and smoke effects a bit more than the lowest settings.... I didnt realize it could do that much! IMO, that's cheating and on top of that I dont know why anyone would want to play in a game that looked that awful. I am a competitive by nature but I do have a few other priorities in games other than just being at the top of the scoreboard, I also want to have fun and enjoy the visuals in the process.

I upgraded my video card and got a copy of Anthem and BFV. If anyone wants the BFV code msg me, first come and it's yours.

And the new patch is out too, 20.6 gb.

Edit, key gone.

I know you can use the mouse wheel up/down to select weapons, but have any of you been successful with including the 'other weapons' in a layout?

For example, for me - you move the mouse wheel and it goes: Pistol, rifle , then back to pistol

I'm wondering have any of you been able to include stuff like Toolkit, Grenade, Bazooka (or whatever the German one is called) as well?

I guess I'm getting old and when I have to look down to find the right key to mash I'm pretty much a sitting duck lol

Nope, does the same thing for me. I just used 1-4 on the numbers to switch to weapons. I havent even tried to change it, I find numbers are faster than the wheel for me.

Only played an hour of Firestorm. Like some things, dont like others. Comparing to Fortnite... when you die, you have to observe. Or quit. You cant just auto join another game and parachute in. Vehicles... over powered to me. So far. I have yet to get any sort of rockets to take them out. I was trying to capture a flag, and got spammed by a tank. Nothing I could do. The map is TOO big for the amount of people. Ran around forever trying to just find someone. I do like the no building junk like Fortnite does, got tired of that. I have only played solo, teams could be much better overall.

This is my first battle royal of any kind and im finding it pretty dull. Spectated a couple of rounds after death and watching what it takes to win this kind of game is not my idea of fun. I have too little patience for waiting around on fire to cover my rear and all the camping involved. Highest I've made it is final four, when I and the other 2 got swiftly wiped out by a tank.

Squad matches may be better, but Ive not been able to get into any of those so far.

Tried solo, not for me. I'll try squads when my friends are on but I doubt this is going to be a mode we play often.

The looting of dead bodies is just stupid. Also telling what ammo is what is a PITA. Play Apex legends for a minute and you'll see looting done right. Criterion already said they will fix it but who the hell thought it was a good idea in the first place? I can't play it until they fix the looting overall.

I'm just not playing it. I jumped in for 2 minutes and was like eh. If I want to play something like that I will play Apex Legends (which I didn't like either but just because I think I'm not a fan of the royal game mode.

Hey guys, long term lurker on the AT forums. Throwing in my two cents on BF5 (I've been enjoying the series since 1942).

I've pretty much stopped playing as the cheating has gotten overwhelming. I hear the comments that every game has cheaters and that is very true. I've watched guys snapping around like stop animation in BF2 with aim bots, and then there was that infamous video of a guy screen sharing with a clan he was trying to join and not even turning off his wall hacks. In BF3 I remember getting killed while driving a tank by an MP7, lol, and there was a guy on Caspian hanging out in the russ uncap plinking people in the US uncap. But in BF5 it has become too much. I've watched enough Youtube videos of this at this point to convince me its not just my lack of skill.

Compounding the cheating is the lack of private servers. This to my mind is a critical error from DICE. Private servers can set up private rules, police themselves and have actual admins monitoring the chat and player activity. In BF2 I was an admin for a clan that very tightly policed their servers. There was always at least one admin monitoring. As a result the server was hugely popular. We kicked people who's ping was too high, who were abusing chat etc. Also private servers and clan rules can add variety to game play.

The battlefield franchise has always been about combined arms and BF5 really misses the mark here. Vehicles are too few, to hard to get and pointless once you do. And the exposed gunner situation just makes tanks a one person effort rather than allowing team play with a squad mate watching your back with the mg.

The maps are pretty boring. The weapons and weapon customization feel like work and feel pointless. The loss of Battlelog for setting up load outs and options is felt substantially.

In summary I miss the BF experience, but I'm not holding my breath the EA is going to let DICE bring it back.

Yeah i found myself usually avoiding many multiplayer games where there isn't a private server. Wouldn't lie when it feels extremely anti-consumer. Not sure why the best overall Dice/BF games had private servers and suddenly someone somewhere figured no that's a bad idea lets drop them. If i recall if a server mod is being abusive you could report the server too right? I see no logic behind why this was removed and honestly since then it seems even more common place where people glitch/cheat/hack and cause of these issues i certainly haven't played much multiplayer lately.

Was just playing a couple days ago, and it got me to wondering 'why am I getting killed with all these wacky weapons?' I'm guessing it has something to do with completing some 'weekly challenge'?

I can't even figure out what this challenge might be lol

Look at the Tides of War in the home screen. You can buy the older weapons with CC in the gun selection screen.

The new Mercury map does look pretty nice. And yep it looks like we're getting the Pacific Theater next, which could be pretty exciting. Looking forward to what they come out with. Oh and I guess the M1 Garand is coming too!

another Greek map is coming by end of June I think, then another big map in July, then another couple smaller more close combat maps then the pacific theatre. This is if I remember things right.
