Battlefield Hardline

I played it a bit last night. The apartment map is absolute garbage, at least with 32 players. It felt like playing BF4 1.0 on 64 player lockers - 0-frame-deaths, spawning dead, enemies spawning right in front of you already shooting you, the works. However, most of the other maps I played (on cash grab) I had a good time on and were fun (except for dust bowl which wasn't very good either. I swear, picking up a full load of cash automatically makes an enemy spawn with a shotgun right behind you on that map. 😡 )

Overall the maps were much better designed and the game modes much more fun. This is key, a big part of the reason why BF4 just sucked overall was terrible map design IMO. Also the weapon and attachment cash unlock system is a huge improvement and there is no explosives spam. I haven't noticed any glaring bugs however it seems like many of the improvements made to BF4 have not made it to BF:HL yet.

I played a bit last night and had fun. I think its an improvement over BF4 in many ways. No server issues for me, conquest (my preferred mode) maps were well designed and fun, and the cash unlock system is much better than the old unlock system IMO.

I had a blast last night one one of the maps that had an elevator on it. I would ride the elevator down, cap some enemies when the door opened, and when the bullets started flying my way I would ride the elevator up, heal, and repeat. Until someone on the other team got the bright idea to give me a grenade as a companion for the ride upwards.

Only complaint I have is that the ground vehicles pretty much suck. No tanks = less fun IMO.

So after playing a little bit today when I got home from work I can categorically say that this game is significantly worse than BF4 was even during the BF4 beta. The game plays much worse than the BFHL beta did for some reason. Maybe there is a server problem or a bunch of cheaters around, I don't know. But every game I've been in has been 0-frame-death after spawndeath after enemy spawning directly behind me...on and on and on.

Not sure how they could have fucked it up so badly but I would say absolutely do not buy this game. At least wait 12-18 months before they patch it up to the level were BF4 is now and the game goes on sale for $20. I'm going to see if I'm still in the 24 hour return window because this is just garbage.

Nice, my refund was indeed approved. I'm very glad not to have to waste another $70 on this crap after being so disappointed with BF4. This game is just such rage inducing bullshit.

Played it for a bit tonight, seems like a fun game. Getting used to the maps is the hardest part for me, but everyone else seems in the same boat.

I played the game when it was in the first Beta and second. I ended up biting the bullet and getting a key for $42 (pre) on the 16th. 36gb install...GEEZ. I think the game play is fun. so far no major issues for me.

I'm just saying air has been imbalanced in every title of the series. If they were going to fix it, it would have been fixed.

So sick and tired of people complaining about this. Just as in real life combat scenarios, Jets and helicopters can easily rule the battlefield under the right circumstances, and just as in the game, can be taken down quickly by a properly equipped enemy.

Yup, stingers can take down choppers very quickly in this game. Though, I haven't ran across a chopper that had ECM equipped.

Play Hotwire before the balance patch comes out. You will get a ton of points if you ride/drive in the car and repair it. This will give you seed money for firearms and mods. Once the patch comes in it will drastically reduce the amount of points gained in Hotwire.

this is for folks who love playing infantry. anybody who loves tanks and planes will hate it. it's no COD at all, but it may feel that way to people that like huge battlefield maps that take ages to go from point to point as infantry, but ok in a vehicle.

i love infantry. this game is good so far having bought it earlier today. i like the pacing and map sizes so far as well.

Yeah on my EA Access 10 hours I been repairing inside the chopper and got like $38K in a single round, lol.

I was a lot more competitive in BF4. I was part of the COD MW generation that changed over late after Black Ops 2.

BF2 was never fixed. Every attempt at a fix resulted in making things worse 10 fold. BSODs, latency out the ass, just awful. Stuff just didn't work. I literally broke my disc at some point in year 3.

BF4 at least got there. It was a bumpy start, but BF2 felt like it was designed to give people strokes.

Haha what? You are talking about Battlefield 2, released in 2003 right? That game was pretty solid and I played from demo to +5 years after release.

He is correct that that it was pretty broken after each major patch. Patch 1.5 was definitely the best and they finished support on that note.

BF2 is infamous for its problems. It is the bar of crap at which all other crap releases are measured. Everyone knows this.

Interesting... my copy was titled "BF2"

Funny as this is the game that got me started building gaming computers, got me into the hobby of pc gaming.Man i miss BF2.It's a shame how they got that pos p2w bs BFPFF but such a classic such as BF2 is gone.🙁

BF4 itself should be a incredibly awesome game but at least in my experience, every other patch has broken something.BF3 i have played so much to death i have jumped into COD and CS:GO and even a bit of BC2 again.

Seems like a lot of people seem to fondly remember their time playing that game, just like I do. But I appreciate your opinion, buggy games are indeed frustrating!
