I concur. BF2 was all kinds of horrible.

Too bad all reviews, and the vast majority of user opinions disagree with you.

Oh Snap!

I for one love BF2, but I tend to stick to Special Forces. I hate the jets and helicopters nonsense.

I'll be busy playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky instead.

Huh? You don't like destructible environments? I don't get it.

Yes, but I need some meat around the bones, and to each their tastes.

A Battlefield-like game is meat I've eaten in already great quantities (I own BF1942 and BF2, I've played them a lot, and enough, and giving me the same thing with updated graphics and destructible environments doesn't mean much to me, it's still a war game in a context that's already been revisited hundreds of times).

Granted, that was annoying. But you can do that in any current FPS (except Crysis, of course). CoD4 lets you avoid bombs from airstrikes by running into little shacks.

@Soviet, take that back! You did NOT have more fun playing Halo 1 than BF2!

Oh i did, on servers where teamkilling was allowed and the map was always blood gulch i would spend ages in the buggy just mowing down my team, and mowing down the other team if they came to investigate what was going on.... ahh bliss...

Hell even on the ones where you couldn't teamkill that same tactic was awesome fun! Or running around hogging the fuel rod gun, or bashing into people with the banshee plane thing.

EA is a bad company.

Well said! With that i imagine that this new battlefield release will be titled Battlefield: Bad Game, if its lousy.

EA is not a GREAT game but it is so damn fun to play. The huge maps with 64 people.......it really is fun. I bought 2142 but I don't play it because it really does suck.

I loved BF 1942, had fun with BF Nam, then came widescreen monitors, and I got one.

I have been boycotting BF series until they support WS.

I like 2142 the best out of the whole series personally. I loved Battlefield 2, but was frustrated with the crappy unlocks and the huge amount of time it took to get ranked up, plus the goddamn jets. 2142 took everything I liked from BF2, took out what pissed me off, and included new content and gameplay modes and to me at least was just overall a whole lot more fun.

I love BF2 & still play it all the time...I'm actually building 2 new rigs to make sure the framerates are better than ever...But of course BF2 isn't the only reason for the new builds...lol

I loved Battlefield 2 (and 1942). I should load it up again one of these days.

This game looks pretty awesome, hopefully it does come out for PC, and if so isn't just a straight crappy port with no modifications for PC. The videos were cool, expect for in the third one the framerate went to shit mulitple times.

Destructible environments definitely adds to strategy, and realism. That laser-painting/airstrike was neat.

BF was a great concept, especially BF1942 and the DesertCombat mod.

Everything since has been poorly executed by EA. I mean, come on, they can't even get the game menu/server list to work right, never have. Buggy as hell!

I can play BF2 for hours on top of hours, for days, only stopping for work, sex, food, or friends. The hacking is annoying, but with so many players on a map, it is easily overlooked. Also, when you find a good server, the admins really know how to bitch-slap the hackers. It's also an amazing party game, so much fun, and so funny if you want it to be. Special Forces is great, too. I wish they would've just added on the two other expansion's for free, though. That probably would've brought on more BF2 sales than just making people pay for them, and the patching is REALLY annoying when you have to re-format your system. Lastly, I'm convinced that some of the really good fighter pilots are using some kind of aim-hack, but I have nothing to back up that claim.. They're just too good at hitting people with the cannon, from so high up.

Also, EA sucks hard-monkey-balls. I hate them, with a passion. I stopped playing for a period of 7 months because of the patching bull-shit, and I just hope they don't pull that on us again. Lastly, Punkbuster pretty much blows, but it's the only real anti-hacking program, and it really does stop the lazy hackers. The determined ones will get through easy, though. That's where good administration comes in.

That said, a new installment of the battlefield style would be AWESOME. I will look forward to it, that's for sure. Just don't screw it up!! :)

I agree that its a good concept, but just because it's a good concept doesn't mean it's going to be a good implementation.

lots of lemmings out there being convinced of a huge marketing push on Halo thats the difference. Everywhere you went, you heard about Halo, they had them on mountain dew bottles for gods sake. It wins the best marketing, doesn't make it a good game. Hell, from what I hear it simply blows just like Halo 1 (who amazingly someone said would take over Bf2 anyday, give me a break). This forum section has turned to gargbage opinions and random thoughts, just to sound different.

BF2 is still an amazing game. Still play it to this day. The teamwork involved, the strategy. Even in a no vehicle server, its pure action. I still play with my clansmate in a squad owning n00bs like you who probably played lone wolf and kept crying about how you died quickly when jets bombed your uncap. I can almost bet that all the BF2 haters never played it the way it was meant to be played, who never played it to its full potential and that is, teamwork. Its ok to tell me you dont have friends, I'd understand, lulz

I love when people resort to personal insults to try and make a point; well done sir.

I found the game boring and buggy as hell. The vehicles seemed horribly unbalanced and I just did not find it fun to run around like an idiot most of the time. I also felt the way the way the weapons worked were absolutely craptacular, or maybe it was just the hitboxes, I don't know. It's been a very long time since I played it, so I can't remember exactly all of the issues I had with it.

Anyway, suffice to say this game is not for me and there are plenty of reasons why. I play CS with teamwork, I play TF2 with teamwork, and I really enjoy those games, but BF2 just bored me no matter who I played with, friends or otherwise.

KT

PS: I would take Halo 1 for PC over BF2 in a heartbeat, since I actually had fun playing that game. ;)

You either played the game for 1 hour tops, had a kill death ratio of 1:50, couldn't adapt to people owning you, or all of the above. The way the weapons were? The way the vehicles were unbalanced? Are you serious? LULZ.
So since you dont like running around like an idiot, I'm going to assume you DONT play COD4 right?????

Granted, vehicles are a bit unbalanced - particularly air units. But that's it. Tanks are toast in an urban environment, and with decent AA most pilots can still be taken down.

Yeah, I have been arguing this for a while, but all the CoD4 n00bs don't understand.

For the reccord, I own both games and by far I had an extremely enjoyable experience with Bf2. I'd get pissed, granted, but the game was fun--I wanted to play it.

CoD4...well, I play some MP every now and then. Not that fun of a game.

I love CoD4 as well. Its infantry combat is many times better than Battlefield 2, but I haven't found another game with vehicle combat in the same league.
