Battlefield: Bad Company

Anyone following this?
Really really REALLY hoping this isn't a port. As far as I can tell Bad Company is shaping up to be the real thing.
The level of destruction is broad and the hd audio is freaking impressive even in these low quality videos.

Supposed to come out on PC? Because looking at the Wikipedia article it still says XBOX/PS3.

I am a huge fan of the original BF1942 and a big fan of BF2 but I just can't get excited about the newer games. They seem to want to make the game more and more like an MMORPG.

Huh? I didn't play BF:V, but BF2 is great. Sure, EA is horrible at patching and I hate the money-grubbing booster packs, but the game itself is very fun. The only problems I can think of are the no-warning artillery and the laggy hitboxes.

This installment looks great with the destroyable environments and improved graphics. One of the things that BF2 really did well was the sound effects, which only seem better. I hope this comes to PC.

BF2 is absolutely amazing. The mods like 2142(which is a cheap mod) don't cut it but BF2 was a nice piece of work. I find generally it's EA games that's what tends to turn people off of BF2. Some will admit this but most just disrespect the game.

I thought the massive 64-player mutliplayer in BF2/2142 was fun as hell, especially w/ coordinated squad-based teamplay. It's one of the more funnest online games out there due to localized squad in a larger multiplayer environment. oh and vehicles. ya. I really enjoyed bf1942 and all, but bf2 and 2142 kicks it out of the water.

Battlefield 2 was a great game I can't believe how much it's aged.

EA is horrible.

That said, Battlefield 2 was probably the 2nd best BF game, trailing the original 1942 (which was so far ahead of its time, it's frightening), and continues to be fun, even today.

You hate almost every game i like but i agree with this. EA just puts out trash. Battlefield 2 was mediocre... i had more fun playing halo 1 online actually, i liked that game it was a laugh.

Hell im a massive c&c fan yet im not exited about the new c&c FPS they're making or the expansion to c&c 3, screw it, nothing EA makes interests me.

No, this isn't BF3, get with it, this is Bad Company, this has been announced since summer 2006. Can you please stick with the current news? And no, this game is coming out from xbox 360, I bet good sums of money on it. A lot of sites, like Wikpedia and 1UP say its for PC, but then gamesites like gamespy say Halo Wars is for PC and Xbox 360, and then in the body paragraph, talk about how the Halo Wars engine is built ground up for the xbox 360. Brilliant journalism.

Granted, that was annoying. But you can do that in any current FPS (except Crysis, of course). CoD4 lets you avoid bombs from airstrikes by running into little shacks.

@Soviet, take that back! You did NOT have more fun playing Halo 1 than BF2!

Thanks for setting me straight. I don't know much about it. Maybe I should start a thread on a bulletin board somewhere and inquire. Oh wait I did that.
I don't think anyone has stated any absolute facts.
