If that's desirable, then why haven't you kicked it off?
Okay.
So, I JUST got the latest edition of PC Gamer and inside is a "scoop" on Battlefield 2. I'm going to poaraphrase because I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be right to quote any of the article at this time.
- The reviewers played through the Gulf Of Oman map and were impressed by the squad mechanics, very detailed maps, and thought the aresenals were well balanced.
- You can join a Fireteam of up to six players.
- There is a commander class that will have a satellite view of the map to direct their side.
- During their test of the game their fireteam was given an assigned target that showed up on their HUD and a battle plan that showed up on everybody's screen.
- Birds fly from trees after explosions.
- Anti-tank missiles now follow your crosshair after you launch them, so, even though vehicles will still be a dominant role, they won't be the wrecking balls they could be in BF1942.
Here are some notable quotes from the
features section of the BF2 official site.
Material penetration feature makes sure players know the difference between cover and concealment.
Character Persistence and Growth. With in-game success, players increase their rank from recruit all the way to General and unlock new weapons, medals, and more.
Full in-game community support including, buddy lists, stat tracking, live chat rooms, and in-game clan creation.
Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests,
I've also heard of ragdoll physics and dynamic lighting.
I haven't played a bad game from DICE yet.
There's no monthly fee and I'm sure I'll get more play time from this $35 game than I got from Doom 3 which got 8-9/10 by most reviewers even if the game isn't perfect.
