I installed BF2 and it doesnt work. I click on the icon and the game takes me to the menu and i click on the single player account. when it load it reaches 46% and it freezes and i cant press anything to get out. i updated the video card drivers and i got nothing. their are time when the game closes by itself.

system configuration:
7800gtx
4000+
2gb memory
250 gb hd

I'm guessing this is a new build. Did you properly install all of your system drivers/ get all the newest updates? Try installing nvidias driver for BF2.

It's would be right in autoplay. Insert the image, or the dvd/cd you have. It will say NVIDIA Driver in the autoplay screen that pops up.

Hey, the bundled drivers are actually quite dreaded. What drivers are you useing now? 77.77 is what I am going with and everthing is fine for me. If it freezes at 47%, I believe that is geometries? Should be a driver probelm in that case. What drivers are you useing now?

Could it be overheating or underpowered? How good is your cooling/airflow and PSU?

I have a 240W doesnt mean that it's bad. yours is 460W but that doesnt matter a good 300W can run alot better than a 500W generic.

That PSU is quite good. Unless you got a lemon, it's fine. Do make sure you don't have everything on one +12V rail, though (you should have the motherboard/hard drives on one and the video card on the other).

i think ots the power supply b/c while i was playing the system reboot.
what else can it be i tried updating to the latest nvidia drivers.

Well, just off the top of my head, it could be bad RAM, a bad CPU, an overheating CPU (due to poor heatsink contact), a bad hard drive, a bad video card, a bad motherboard, or a corrupted driver somewhere.

Start with some basic stability testing with memtest and prime95. If you can't make it through those, then you probably have a hardware issue.

Also, try dxdiag and a some 3D benchmarks (real basic things like 3DMark03/05 or Aquamark). If your benchmark scores are way off, or apps refuse to run, then your video card/drivers are probably the issue.

Memtest was, last I checked, at memtest86.org (Google will definitely turn it up). You can create a boot floppy/CD that will run memtest and check out your RAM. This is good to start with, since it runs before the OS loads (eliminating software issues), but it takes a few hours to fully scan your system (be sure to enable the full tests).

Prime95 is at www.mersenne.org. Once you install the software, you can use the 'torture test' mode to test your CPU/RAM. You'll want to let it run for at least a few hours.

3DMark's various incarnations can be downloaded from www.futuremark.com. It's pretty straightforward to use, and you can compare your results online. If they're way lower than they should be, you probably have driver issues.

DXDiag is built into Windows. Just go to start/run and type 'dxdiag' into the box to run it. Ensure that all the video acceleration things are enabled, and you can run the video and audio tests to make sure DirectX is working correctly.

Google is your friend. As is the search feature here.
