XFX 6600gt 128mb

Will my system be able to run the game playbly,at what settings.
(This is my third pair of ram and second piece of the same card,so this all could using any of the stuff, old or current)
NFSU2 demo:
anything from 1280*1024,full af - 1280*1024,full aa/af(settings changed from game menu)

Doom3
1280*1024,ultra high,sometimes getts slow though

chronciles of riddick demo
1280*1024,auto(2.0)

mohpa demo
1280*1024

Your system specs. are good enough to run BF2 and all the other games listed, its just that your video card is on the lower end. I personally dont have BF2 so dont know how video intensive it is, but most likely you should be able to also play it on 1280*1024 but with many of the shading/texture settings set to low. If you really want to play the game decently you need to update the vid card.

My specs are similar, except I'm running a 3000+ Winnie, and I can run BF2 at High Quality @ 1280x1024 with 2x AA like silk - you shouldn't have any problems.

You should be able to run the game at 1280x960 (or 1024) with most settings on high. You might have to run textures and terrain on medium to avoid stuttering.

If you overclock your processor and upgrade to a 6800, you'll have a pretty nice gaming computer. 6800's are selling for around $200 now.

firstly i live in india
secondly i am not oc anything at the moment.
thirdly who the hell would sell a 6600gt to get a 6800,anyways i porably can't do that , won't be allowed

also,sometimes 6600gt>6800

it should be fine for at least 1024.
my 6800GT @ Ultra runs BF2 great at 1280x960 with no slowdowns, the only problem is the beginning of the map still loading chops up for 5-10 seconds (due to only having 1GB of RAM)

Did you try the 1.02 patch? No more lags for me with 1G of RAM.

Your comp is fine, I run a Athlon XP 3200+ with 1gb, 6800GT and it runs the game smooth as a baby's butt at 1680x1050. (no AA but everything else maxed).

you have 6800gt while i have 6600gt , what comparison is this your cpu is slower but your graphic card is abt twice as fast.

how well can a radeon 9800pro play the game
also,is intel gma 900 or geforce 4 ti supported?
also,what are requirements of aoe:heaven

6600gt is better than 9800pro. also this game is supported by nvidia see that icon that pops up when you start bf2 there is a big hint.

TWIMTBP rarely has any bearing on the preferred video card, it's an Ad that Nvidia pays for.

You should be fine with that rig. I have an xp 2200+ and an fx-5900 with 1 gb DDR266 and BF2 runs fine for me. Just set the graphics low. It's still really fun!

texture quality to medium, and sound quality to medium, on software, with EAX off will put you under 1GB in every map.

I have a creative sound blaster live 24bit
do i still have to put sound quality to medium
also,if i set texture quality to high will there be any difference except addition of 2x aa or 4x af or something.
Can I keep other things maxed?

Also, with patch 1.02,doesn't it make the game smooth even with 1gb ram?
Also, why shd I keep graphics low / medium for other things?

well, aren't you a retard? you think 6600GT is lower end? My friend you have very little or no knowledge in todays video cards if that's what you think.
Offcourse there are much better cards, but there are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more worse cards (that includes 9800pro), so wtf are you talking about?!

for most things 9800pro (256bit) should not be much worse.
in agp
for games of 2004 g6600gt on avg maybe 10-15% better than 9800pro though 9800pro may win sometimes but also loose in games like doom3,pop:sot

thats alot of questions in one and no one here can really answer that. Wait till the game is out and give it a try then. The specs the makers give is worthless and the prelim reports they have are likewise useless. Carmak was quoted as saying Doom 3 would run fine on a Radeon 8500 back when that card was out recently, anyone actually try to run Doom3 on a 8500? I did, and it SUCKED.

Just be happy with the system you have and wait for the games to come out. A A64 with a 6600gt is nothing to sneer at, it will play games just fine, even the resource hog that is BF 2.

You can play BF2 smoothly with your rig. Just put the settings to medium. I have compared high settings vs medium settings myself, and I cannot notice any discernable visual difference at all, and using high settings gave me far too much stuttering and made loads times 2x longer.

And oh BTW, play BF2 with at least 2x AA on. Run it without AA and the game looks really ugly.
