Yeah, I was hoping BF1943 would hold me over until Battlefield Bad Company 2, which would hold me over until BF3. But now BF1943 is pushed back to Q1 2010. BFBC2 is also scheduled for Q1 2010 (March 2nd). My guess is that the console versions of BFBC2 will be out then, but the PC version will come out in the 3rd quarter (based on past performance).
BF3 won't come until at least 2011. (I could be dead by then!)

BF 3 should be announced 2010, hell, it's basically been confirmed in development earlier this year. They've been working on it for 2 years or so now, so 2 more years = 2011.

Should come out 2011.

That's pretty soon for them.

Yea but then of course a year after it's released they'll release a "brand new" game that's exactly the same thing just a different setting: Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2142

As I said in another thread yestedray, expect something to be released next week regarding a release date. This week has some key people at GamesCom that need to get back before I can release anything.

Update in OP:

27-Aug-2009 Edit: DICE announces that the Euro Forces and Armored Fury booster packs will indeed be included free in the 1.5 patch! http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/

As part of Update 1.50 we are glad to announce that not only is Highway Tampa now a required install included in the update but Euro Forces (Great Wall, Taraba Quarry and Operation Smoke Screen) and Armored Fury (Midnight Sun, Operation Harvest and Operation Road Rage) is now FREE for all Battlefield 2 players. Including the brand new map, Operation Blue Pearl this brings EIGHT new maps that everyone can play and will be added to ranked Battlefield 2 servers world wide. The Booster Pack content is included in the update and has made the file just over 2Gb in size.

Great news. Anyone heard anything on disc check removal?

That would be the icing on the cake.

The patch actually looks pretty good. I always wanted to play those new maps and now I have a chance. I got a buddy at work ready to jump back into BF2 also.

To those of you who tried the beta patches, how did the widescreen support workout? Is it vert - like you get with the modded command line method? Or did they do it right and go hor+?

That's definately a good question. Why no mention of this since Beta 1 (in this thread)? I will post a question on the EA forums tonight, when I get home from work.

Thanks man. If you could post a link to the thread that would be excellent.

Thanks, great info. I never bought those booster packs so this is great for me! Too bad for those that ended up buying them lol.

I bought the Armored Fury pack. It's a great pack. New choppers and other stuff. Alaska map and other very wide open maps.

The answer is already there in the first post at the top of the BF2 Forum: Questions raised regarding Update 1.50

I'm really excited:

--
  • Added Highway Tampa as a required map.
  • Added Battlefield 2142 style prone deviation (going prone will now cause reduced accuracy for a brief period)
--

These I don't like. Highway Tampa is extremely lame and the prone deviation sucks. At least you can get past claymores now. That was just absurd for years.

yea, the claymore thing sounds awesome. This might tempt me to stick the thing back in the drive.
