Yay
I was looking forward to CoD4:2.
:frown:

Wow did I get confused.
I meant to say looking forward to BF3~!
I guess my mind has already chosen that I'll be playing Cod4:2 instead of BF1943...

CoD and BF are totally different games, i don't know why you're comparing the two, they don't satisfy the same gaming needs for me. unless you're one of those people who play BF2 for its infantry combat. CoD is good but i wouldn't choose one and skip the other because BF games are more than just infantry fps.

Depends, I wouldnt mind a Prettier BF1942. In fact I would love it. BF1942 was the best Battlefield game in my eyes and as long as the dont screw it up it might be good.

yeah but BF1942 covered both european and pacific fronts, but this sounds like it's strictly pacific.

it's going to be a lot of naval warfare and air combat.

Just read this somewhere else. If it's anything close to BF1942, I am SO there. Native wide screen support would be enough for me!

you're right, the BF games satisfy none of my needs, well, except the need to get extremely annoyed and frustrated at a completely shitty game.

Nothing wrong with WW2, especially if its a Battlefield game. BF1942 is the still the best in the series by far.

BF1942 covered pretty much the entire war, wasn't even limited to 1942. The Pacific maps were the best, and the city maps the worst.

You're doing it wrong, DICE! WTF!!!!

How can paradisiac decorations ever be wrong?

Maybe I'm simple, retarded, awesome, and dashing, but all I want is BF42 with updated res and people actually playing. Do that please.

I did like 42/nam as the best of the series. Not to mention that the vehicles were way more balanced in those games.

I really hope they bring back the spotter/artillery function. I didn't mind spending hours while playing just sitting in a sp-arty or battleship waiting for the signal from my scouts or manning an AAA turret.

"23 other furious" sounds like max players is 24. I hope that's not true. But I wouldn't mind going back to WW2 - it's a fun setting, after all. I hope they bring back battleships/destroyers!

Not to mention trying to sneak to a good position to call in an arty strike and then trying to stay alive to keep it up.

So many moments of that game were just epic, felt like something big was really going on. Like on Midway when your carrier's sunk and the airfield is getting shelled and dive bombed to hell, the excitement of fighting back enough to get a few planes get off the ground to try to fend off the attack, just awesome.

The game was great when you'd get in a server full of people who didn't care about their individual scores and just worked at a team doing those kinds of things to turn the battle. Even without the squad crap and built in voice, peole just played much more organized than I ever noticed in BF2 - simpler game overall maybe? Who knows. Of course there were always the smacker plane campers and such, but on a good server, they didn't last long.

Yeah, probably getting too excited for this already. Brace for the letdown!

EDIT
"Well, I dunno....up to 24 players and only three maps and download only for PC "

And... there it is.

Sweet! By the looks of the trailer, they've already implemented Gratuitous Image Tearing, AND I get another WWII game to go along with the other 83 sitting on my shelf.

That's a WIN-WIN situation if I ever saw one! Factor in the fact that's it's EA/DICE - possibly the worst Quality Control in the industry - and this baby can't miss!!!!!
