Battlefield 1 released!

If its a modern time fps like just a BF5,there is a 90% chance i just won't be buying it.Burnt out on modern shooters and BF4 has been a mess for so long.

If its a Bad Company 3,a shooter based in the past like Vietnam or something based in the future like COD AW then chances are if it isn't broken during beta i will buy it.

Bored enough with modern shooters,we need something seriously refreshing.None of this Star Wars bs or some hack of GTA either ty🙂

But seriously, I doubt it's WWI for the points you just made. I just want a proper Titan mode brought back. Don't care what era they do it in, but Carrier Assault was weak sauce.

Yep, totally agree with this, if it's bad company 3, I might buy it, but if it resembles anything like bf3-4 or whatever that cops and robbers swill was I'm not touching it. I recently loaded COD2 and it was refreshing to play a game with no special unlocks or gun mods.

I really miss the old days of battlefield 1942, to me it seems like the whole franchise has slid down hill since Bad Company 2.
 
They will never be able to please everyone. Some people want WW1, far future, WW2, bad company 3, bf2143, near future militaristic, etc.

Rumors said they will do near future for the core game and change the locations to America, that will open the door to more futuristic expansion packs and should make things feel new again. I'd enjoy that. They can release any expansion they want with different themes.
 
i really miss the titan maps from 2142.

Something about boarding the enemy titan and then bombing the reactor was a lot of fun.
Especially organizing the completely mostly usless transport chopper into a party bus for a titan invasion.
 
BF2142 was the highlight of the series for me, I was ranked in the top 25 in gunship kills a year after release and I didn't play only the gunship... I played everything, but the gunship was such a beast. Unkillable except by the enemy gunship. I used to 40-0 routinely, but 25-2 would be an average round. It was the best, especially because most 2142 players for some reason thought the gunship was bad... THEY WERE WRONG! 🙂

I actually liked Bad Company 1, and I liked BF3 and BF4 though both games only lasted me about 50 hours each (still worth the purchase but nothing close to the hundreds of hours that both BF2 and 2142 kept my interest).

Probably the fact there are so many other games to steal your interest away now a days doesn't help either, back in the BF2 and 2142 days it was slim pickings.

Anyway, I'll still buy the next Battlefield game although I skipped Star Wars Battlefront (the beta was so overly simplified and over-priced). I'm actually still a little excited about a new BF game because the graphics are always amazing on Frostbite. I just have zero patience for the endless unlocks though so we'll see...

Bring back the titan battles, and invisibility/cloaking, and hover tanks!
 
At this point I only get the BF/COD series on sale a couple years after release to play what there is of the single player campaign.
 
I don't really get how people can say Battlefield 3 was awesome and BF4 totally sucks. WTF!?!? They're more-or-less the same frickin game!

Lookin forward to the announcement Friday, though!
 
I think only a futuristic BF would be interesting,people seem to love jump packs and silly gadgets in COD and i think another generic modern shooter with the same cut and paste weapons just isn't going to do it.

I always preferred the APC jump pods.

Epic mass of assault pods amidst all the violence and combat is epic and ALWAYS will be epic.
 
Love the battlefield series, but really don't want them to go futuristic.

WWI would be cool, although I will miss helicopters for sure. Would love for them to retread Vietnam, but have a feeling that would be their least profitable option.

While overdone, a dystopian universe set in today's timeframe could be a lot of fun.
 
I gave up on the game after bf2. With 3 and 4 they really sped up the gameplay to cod levels. It removes any incentive for playing smart or using small unit tactics with instant respawn and blaze out full auto fire that's very accurate.

I still play project reality, which is basically a standalone game based on the bf2 engine and it's a lot of fun.

I think games like squad are going to be the future for that style of gameplay.

The maps in BF4 sucked compared to 3 imo, and I wasn't about to pay for maps from bf3 when I could just load it up and play it.
 
I'm not sure how I feel about WWI. I feel like they are either going to pull a steampunk version (Meh) or its going to be slow (meh again.)

And Rush maps have sucked ever since they stopped making the maps linear. Picking an area of a large conquest map and trying to force a Rush game on it really sucks.

I really really miss the squad play that you got in the Rush games during Bad Company 2.
 
"We love the community, so many truly brilliant people out there added content to the Battlefield franchie".... but you guys are too stupid to understand the engine so no Mod tools for you!
