Battle: Los Angeles

So, it comes out in two days and not a single critic has reviewed it. So, it seems like critics are not being shown it. So, is it really going to be that bad?

It's the only movie I have been looking forward to lately.

That's almost always a REALLY bad sign. I still plan on going saturday.

The fact that it's being released now is a bad sign. This is a blockbuster style movie, the kind of flick that would kick ass during the summer if it was really good. If the studio is dumping it into theaters now they don't have a whole lot of confidence in it.

Wikipedia lists the budget as $100 million. ya, this could be a huge flop.

guess it isnt going to be at the very least a brainless fun romp like tron...
"Roger Ebert panned the film, giving it half of one star and stating "Generations of filmmakers devoted their lives to perfecting techniques that a director like Jonathan Liebesman is either ignorant of, or indifferent to. Yet he is given millions of dollars to produce this assault on the attention span of a generation."

so he does like his popcorn flicks, i guess battle fails to deliver.

Gonna go watch it tonight...

Sorry to hear that. 37% right now on Rotten Tomatoes on 68 reviews. Going to be in the low 30s by the time all reviews are in.

It's going to take alot to get me into a theater to see this.

Having read one review sounds like dumb action movie with alot of cliches.

Nahh , me and friends will have a couple of drinks and then go check it out.
haha

Battlefield Earth got terrible reviews but I liked it. I expect similar with this movie too. Since TRON didn't get movie of the year I have just assumed the critics have no taste. I will never watch The King's Speech.

Its at 37% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. Damn that sucks, i thought Aaron Eckhart would make the film good actually. I still plan on seeing it in theaters.

That's why they're releasing it now. Almost zero competition for action flicks this time of year, so they're trying to make their money back. In the summer it would get buried by the good popcorn flicks.

damn it, me and my friend really want to see this too

grr, probably still will see, shit, we saw transformers 2 so this has to be better then that

Best line from the review...

Young men: If you attend this crap with friends who admire it, tactfully inform them they are idiots. Young women: If your date likes this movie, tell him you've been thinking it over, and you think you should consider spending some time apart.

I saw it at a free screening tonight. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. It was worth the 2 hours if you like these kind of movies (popcorn action flicks, ie Transformers, etc)
It wasn't as cheesy as ID4, but reminded me alot of it.
I did get a T-shirt that says "Battle:LA" on it though. 🙂

My friend Jason saw it and he said it's worse than Skyline and worst part about it is Michelle Rodriguez  Save your money folks
