I think what he is trying to say is the comics dumb the fights down. But if this were actually real batman stands 0% chance against superman. As said could eye blast him well out of range of kryptonite etc.

This is not true. Batman has special gloves given to him from Ray Palmer that protects him from Superman's eye blast and freezing breath. However, I doubt these gloves are in the movie. Also, allowing for Superman to win the fight in one punch or eye blast would make for a boring short movie.

They're superheroes - their powers are dictated by the plot, not the other way around.

Yikes, it's like somebody let a bunch of sperglord 12 year olds in here.

I watched the trailer, ok, so ...I think we are getting a Lex Luther origin in it, but WHY IN THE HELL do they think we need to see the batman origin AGAIN?

I agree, we don't need to see Batman's origin again. We do need to see where Wonder Woman came from though. How does she fit into the story? I'm guessing she's Batman's ace up his sleeve against Superman.

Launching pa for new batman series.

I'm actually loving the look of this new batman.

You can ask the same question for Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg in their minor roles. :\

that's why Superman sucks in general. Always an overpowered, faultless superhero that loses only when some hackneyed plot shenanigans dictate that he must lose.

yeah in the 90's he was getting insane. the power levels he had were just flat out stupid.

that's why they killed him. kinda a reset on his powers.

I did a few days of extras work on BvS when they were filming around here...pretty cool seeing some of those scenes in the trailer. I'm somewhat hopeful that one scene in particular will make it through, but we'll see!

As for the trailer itself...I'm excited for the movie, sure, but seeing the Deadpool footage was sooooo much better last night. Maybe it won't suck!

I'd say Batman being overpowered is why Batman sucks in general. Superman's origin and powers makes more sense than Batman's capabilities. There's nothing grounded about Batman. Lex Luthor is arguably the smartest human in DCU and he had no plan to beat every JL member at the drop of a hat.

The problem with Lex Luthor is that he's short sighted. Bruce plays the long game.

Hell, Amanda Waller from Project CADMUS even played the long game (Batman Beyond anyone?).

to be fair, I think they all suck. ...DC just sucks in general. 😀

- Bruce Wayne is mad
- Superman conflicts world b/c he's dangerous but keeps saving people, Lex Luthor keeps stirring the pot
- Batman tries to take Superman down b/c he's a threat to humanity
- They fight and Batman has some plan/technology that keeps it entertaining
- A new threat arises that they realize they need to join forces to beat (seems related to Zod's body - probably some genetic extraction by Luthor to revive him or create some monster)
- They team up and beat the threat after a lot of difficulty
- Batman realizes that Superman is powerful but trustworthy and probably "teaches" him some rules about collateral damage, yadda yadda
- The world realizes how big the universe is and that Superman is their only protection
- The end with some hint to the next threat
Not bad.

And Metropolis right next to Gotham City? uhhhh ok.

i thought the trailers for the three leaked comic con movies were all pretty great looking. the sinister 6 one was a really crappy cam though.

He forgot where Batman and Superman have a brokeback moment.

It's going to be near the end when Superman gives Batman the piece of kryptonite and tells him that he trusts only him to stop him in the future. Batman's eyes start to well up as they stare deeply into each others eyes...

And Metropolis right next to Gotham City? uhhhh ok.

Sometimes its in the midwest, either in Kansas or a stand in for Chicago. Most times its on the east coast (stand in for NYC). Whats strange is Gotham is also an stand in for NYC. Miller was quoted as saying they were the same city. In general the locations of these cities are strange, but Snyder is being reasonable here.

Metropolis is Manhattan, Gotham is Jersey City or Staten Island.

I bet that it's just going to be a flashback. Like, after the Zod V Supes battle blows up his building and half of metropolis, he dwells on that AND his parents' murder (shown in flashbacks) and this tells him that he has to do something about superman.

Having just watched the new trailer, I just don't get casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. In the trailer he sounds like he hasn't even hit puberty. He also doesn't look much older than he sounds.
