Omg embargo is over. Rotten tomatoes is horrible.

Kind of hard to put much faith in those. Audience reviews seem very positive and majority of the negative critic reviews fall in the it isn't marvel or not another comic book movie bucket.

That isn't what I'm hearing. The consensus is just that the movie's story is "a mess". Although, I have heard a lot of good things about Ben Affleck as Batman and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.

Reviews are saying story is paper-thin and all over the god damned place (shocking, I know).
I was at the theater Monday night for the special showing and the place was jammed. This is one of those movies like star wars that people are going to go see no matter what.

The sad part is that when release, movie reviews are usually higher because the fan boys see it first, then reviews always go down after that once normal people get to see it. If reviews are this bad right off the gate, it's only going to get even worse which means it's not good at all.

Initially, yes but then the number are going to drop through the fucking floor. But those are only the people that are going to see it regardless of the reviews. Star Wars drew in people of all shapes and sizes. Hell my mom (74 years old) wanted to see Star Wars. I assure you she has NO intention to see BvS

so what did u think about the movie?
I was there to see Allegiant which wasn't bed. Beautiful graphics and a decent story.

It was on my way out that I saw the cattle call for the special preview showing. So I don't know how good the movie was but what I can tell you is that it was real wiener fest. I'm sure there must have been some woman in the crowd but I can't remember seeing one.

That's what I'm counting on. I skipped SW completely because I knew even after a week there would still be crowds. I'm hoping that by the time I see this next week, the theater will basically be empty.

I generally enjoy all the zack snyder movies the critics hate, so there's a small smidgen of hope...
Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, and 300 were rated fairly well by critics, it's just that his more recent movies haven't been all that good.

it's probably just a movie that gets panned critically but is still fun to watch

Audience score is at 84%. Not sure if that's a good or bad number though.

i think this review says it all:

The main issue facing the writers of a superhero smackdown like this is concocting a reason why, given all the evil out there, they have to fight each other — as well as, in this case, coming up with a way to level the playing field when one hero is essentially immortal and the other is just a really buff rich guy with a costume and lots of gizmos.

The filmmakers would seem to have thrown up their hands at how to gracefully integrate Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) into the action, simply hurling her into the epic final battle without significant preparation at all.

I had to stop reading this review, felt like it was going to get all spoiler-y.

hilarious verge headline, but review is full of spoilers.

Batman v Superman review: a very expensive reaction video for Man of Steel

The youtube reviewers who I go to for opinions on comic and sci-fi movies pretty much say it's a flawed movie with great moments within.

Zack Snyder is a great visual stylist but hasn't nailed down telling a story coherently all the time.

I'll watch it but I'm not expecting something as interesting as Winter Soldier.

Oh yeah from what I've heard Ben Affleck kills it as Batman and one of the movies highlights is that they give enough time to explain his motivations in the movie. Some of which has been shown in the trailers obviously.
