basal calories burned?

After packing on a small child's worth of weight over xmas break, I am starting to exercise again.....

I've been designing my diet with FitDay, but they have me burning 2700 calories just by living....is that right? Other basal calculators have me burning 3000+ just to stay the same weight. I am just in disbelief that i would burn that much in everyday life (even with 'sedimentary' as the lifestyle choice).

Any recommendation on what my daily calorie intake should be if i want to lose ~1-2 lbs a week?

(exercise will switch from: laying in my bed -to- basketball, jogging, biking 3-4 times a week)

thanks.

You gotta give us your weight, age, etc, if you want us to try to calculate that stuff. 2700 is probably too much though unless you're a very large person. (Also, it's "sedentary.")

damn spell check 🙂

6'3" 280lb.......was 248 a couple months ago to give to a picture of how 'sedentary' i was.

Are you sure one of your scales wasn't broken? Almost 40lbs in 2 months? I don't think you'll be able to reverse that in the same period of time anyhow.

If your weight is now remaining stable you can drop your cals by 500-1000/day from what you are currently eating to loose 1-2lbs/week. I wouldn't put too much faith in those calculators.
