All 2500's are 333 but not all 2500's are bartons. I think the only difference is the cache. That is your price difference.

All 2500's are 333 and Bartons. The cache is 640k (512k + 128k), instead of 384k cache (256k + 128k) on all the other Tbreds and Pals.
The 2400+ is only 266fsb, but there is a 2600+ with 266fsb (but more rare) as well as the 2600+ with 333fsb. Everything above the 2600+ has either 333 or 400fsb.

ummmm...what? every 2500+ is a barton there is NO t-bred 2500+ never has been and probably never will be since eventually the barton core will be phazing out the T-breds

Both chips run at a 333 FSB...but the 2500 Barton has 512Meg L2 Cache vs 256 for the 2600. Also, the Barton runs at 1.83 GHz vs the 2.08GHz for the 2600. With the new core and lower clock speeds, it should be much easier to overclock this chip. (Note: A Barton 2800 runs at the same speed (internally) as a Thoroughbred 2600 but the 512Meg cache gives it the 200 point power rating)....

That little "not all XP2500's are Bartons" thing reminded me of something... has anyone seen that eMachine computer that says it has an XP2300?!?

Yeah I think ive heard of a 2300+ but it wasnt an official PR rating, probably just a little marketing ploy by emachines to stand yout from the rest by having a different clocked chip. :)

Retail
OEM

respectively.

Pricewatch takes alot of its info from how things are listed, so if some sites list their XP2500 as just that and another bunch of sites list it as XP2500 with 333fsb,
then there may be two listings when in fact it is the same chip.

I wonder what the 2300+ is clocked at?
It does have 256K L2 cache so I'm assuming it's a Tbred B chip and it's probably clocked around 1.86Ghz based on the 266fsb chip.
That's strange though cause the 2400+ is clocked at 2Ghz.
