First, the bar definitely sounds like the owner's got a racist outlook.
Second, why in the hell would ANYONE choose a bar to hang out in that has a "dress code/vibe code/don't like your black face code?."
Third, the owner was right about one thing, find a different bar to hang out in.

5 Shots for 10 Bucks. That's the only reason anyone ever goes there. The owners a douche and wears a raiden hat

You're telling me there's not another convenient cheap bar in New York City to hang out in?

I put a list of just a couple of other cheap bars around the city in my previous post. As far as overall drinks are concerned, there's TONS of other cheap bars. However, when college students/young professionals see "5 Shots for $10", logic and reason go out the window.

You're right. Kinda sounds like the OP's white friends need to get a clue and stop hangin' out there too. After giving the owner a piece of their mind.

If you and your friends along with the others writing those articles stopped going there, they would lose business. They have the right to refuse service to anyone with BS restrictions. Move on and don't waste your time.

I, of course, believe in wallet based activism and I'm surely not going to picket the establishment. But do they really have the right to refuse service based on anything but a dress code and the obvious age restrictions?

What if I opened a bar and put up a sign "NO CHINESE PEOPLE," or had a selection criteria that meant that chinese people simply would not be allowed in?

hey hey hey, why single out chinese people 🙁

I didn't really mean to trick anyone, just thought it was time to put freedomsbeat212 to rest - I was pretty insecure/needy/annoying/depressed back then

Back then? You were posting with that user name 2 months ago. This account you are post with now was created in 2007. Could you be any more of a liar?

Bars/Clubs ban those types of clothing because the people who wear them are the ones who always cause all the trouble. It's a private establishment so it's their call.

You were probably kept out of the bar because you resemble the known troll freedomsbeat212. YHPM -Anandtech Moderator DrPizza

self pwnage?

why is/was he a troll?

Yeah, self-ownage, but why was he a troll. I remember all his YAGT's, but I wouldn't have called him a troll. A whinny, attention-whore? Maybe, but not a troll. What'd he do?

That might be the case but doesn't rectify your history (which I don't know all the details of). Right your wrongs or go elsewhere is my thought.

New Year's Eve we were at a club/lounge in NYC and we got in with a bunch of people - guys/girls. A buddy of mine and myself went out to grab something to eat (real food) and came back... the bouncers at the door looked at us and asked each other... hmm what do you think? Yes we were wearing jeans, but an hour ago we were wearing jeans too. They let us in after we said we had already been in. It must've been the asian chicks... everybody likes asian chicks.

I don't think you can associate that with racism or dress code... you were two dudes trying to get into a club.
