Yeah, like even if any of you juiced up on steroids could still hit and play like he has...
Its like saying if Tiger Woods suddenly took steroids, its not like just because he could drive it farther that he'd necessarily be any better of a golfer.
And yes, this steroid talk is so old and nobody even cares anymore. I don't know why they focus on it so damn much on every sports thing.
So if he was so talented without steroids, which i don't deny, why bother taken them, uh, I mean flaxseed oil, at all?
Hell, pitchers have walked him so much the past few years, so he should've stopped taking them.
Agreed. Just making the point that he's not just some loser that wouldn't be anything without whatever it was that he took.
I don't think anyone doubts he has talent, but in some way that just made him all the worst when he decided to cheat...
Yeah, it has ruined the great accomplishments he's made. I just get sick of all these people who talk like he wouldn't have been anything without the "performance enhancers" that he used.
Then again, this is ATOT where little whiny 13 year olds like to comment on everything, so what am I to expect.
Hey Ted Williams was a Jerk when he played and people only remember his accomplishments. BTW, if it weren't for WWII and the Korean War it would be Williams that Bonds would be chasing for the HR record.Originally posted by: Argo
I don't think him taking steroids is the biggest problem here. Giambi took steroids yet I'm willing to forgive him. The problem with Barry is that he thinks he's better than anybody else and it's him against everyone else. He keeps whining after every little tough question asked by a reporter, as if other athletes don't get asked tough questions. He complains about every negative article about him. When steroids issue came up, instead of coming out and saying "guys I used steroids and I'm sorry" or "guys I didn't use steroids, this is all a lie" he starts b*tching and whinning about how media created this. He had a chance to go down as one of the most famous and loved players ever. Instead he'll be remembered as a jerk.

He was known for flipping off and spitting on fans. He wasn't in the same asshole status as Ty Cobb but he was a surly character.Originally posted by: Argo
Where do you get the fact that Ted was a jerk? Everybody who met him says he was a very nice person. But again, it's not as much being a jerk, as constantly crying and accusing everybody. There were several jerks in baseball, Babe Ruth and Reggie good examples, but at least they never cried about unfair treatment.
LOL, maybe the scum Dodgers might have a chance this year.Originally posted by: ohnnyj

Actually the biggest problem I have with Bonds is that he always acts like he is better than everyone else. However it turns out he was cheating all along (we can't tell when he actually started taking steriods). This makes it impossible to tell what his natural ability is and how talented he is.
Yet he still acts like he is better than everyone else, even after he's caught cheating...

If you were in his position, I'm sure you'd probably get really fvcking sick of it too.
Has it even been proven that he shot up? The only thing I thought he admitted to was the cream.
Regardless, you're probably just another steroid bandwagon fan. All the people like you who say "Oh yeah, he used steroids, let's see him hit home runs now without them." and all the rest of that sh1t are morons. How do steroids help your hand-eye coordination? If anything, would it not slow them down? Learn a bit about the game first, then make your stupid comments.

I hate to break it to you, but many people consider him to be the greatest baseball player ever. My coaches last year thought so, along with many other baseball fans.
I just think it's stupid when people say he sucks without steroids and other stupid things, because he's obviously talented. You can't just take steroids and have a good eye and be able to knock in 50+ home runs a season.

I do agree it is getting unfair for everyone to cry "steroids" at every HR hitting player nowadays. But Bonds always thinks everyone is out to get him and his EGO is larger than his size 12 head! Sure, steroids may not help your hand-eye coordination, but it could give you a little more bat speed that turn foul balls into hits, and the little bit of extra power that turns fly ball outs into Home Runs. They all want a little edge over the competition. I don't know if he took them or not, but it seems VERY suspicious and if he wasn't such a jerk people wouldn't care as much imo.

Except his home run numbers exploded only after he started taking 'roids.

Yup. You can't hold the same amount of muscle when your testosterone level goes down.
