Barry Bonds,greatest player of all time?

I can't say the greatest, but he is one of the best of all time of course. He knows how to approach the plate i enjoy watching him bat... the way he covers the plate you can probably think he will hit a homer everytime
 
Bonds comes as close as anyone but no one tops the Babe.

Ruth's numbers are ridiculous as it is, but then you look at the era he was playing in and it's even more amazing. In 1918 he led the league with 11 home runs, and in 1920 he hit 54 (the second-place guy had 19). Edit: part of this was due to the end of the dead-ball era but his numbers were still unheard of. He was the first and greatest slugger and he changed the game of baseball. Add to that his pitching accomplishments and the Babe is without doubt the greatest player of all time in my mind.

Hmm... never heard of this about Babe Ruth. All I've heard was that he was a womanizer, drunk, and kinda fat when he got old.
Bonds works hard and a great family guy.

I suppose you never heard of Yankees stadium as the house the Ruth built either,
nor the fact that Babe Ruth played in a LOT more World Series than Barry. 😉

It's not just his peers, though. Here we are in 2004 and Ruth is still:
10th all-time in career batting average
2nd all time in OBP
1st all time in Slugging %
(his OPS is head and shoulders above everyone else)
3rd all time in runs scored
2nd all time in home runs
2nd all time in RBI
3rd all time in walks

And like I said, the guy could pitch, too. He was an absolute monster on the diamond.
