At least if we had spent those entitlements here domestically, that money would still be in our own economy...

It's surreal, but I can almost guarantee that spending will EASE under a (D) President compared to our out-of-control (R) masters.

I think that speech was shockingly honest. I'm not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing for him, but it was at least honest. I really don't know if America is ready for an honest discussion of race... but it definitely seems like Obama's going for it.

I for one am really glad. We finally have someone here who is willing to say something in a speech besides "RAH RAH AMERICAN FLAG WHOOOO". I feel like in the end it might hurt him, but there's a small glimmer of hope in me that people are ready for a politician who can say these sorts of things. I guess we'll find out.

Careful, you might get accused of drinking the kool-aid. We all know that politicians are only supposed to kiss the flag and spout doublethinking rhetoric on the "issues," and that all this honest and open talk from Obama just makes him an "empty suit demagogue."

Simple. Because what's happening in Iraq is fascist, pure and simple. How can you not see that? You're taking my money, our tax dollars, and handing it right over to a for profit corporation against the wishes of the people. That is bullshit. If they want to make profits, they should have to compete in the marketplace, not steal my tax dollars just because they got their puppet elected into office.
Socialism has its flaws, and I oppose it for sure, but at least it takes my money, keeps it in our economy and helps the poor and our infrastructure. And I can actually do something about it and have a say.

This is true. He is white. I got flamed for saying this here a couple of months ago. He is also NOT an African-American. His father was a Kenyan, not a descendant of slaves.

I had a GF in high school who was half-black. She never knew her black father (don't jump to conclusions, he was killed in Vietnam) and was raised by her white mother (who was a cop no less) in one of the whitest cities in America. She actually resented it when people told her she was black. Not racism on her part, she just didn't even know any.

(1)- Yes, as long as he promised to finish Afghanistan and allow oversight and bidding to save money on logistics as well as provide greater quality.

(2)- Yes, conditions above.

It's a meaningless question, because neither of them intend to do anything of the kind. Of the 2 though, Romney is certainly preferable. At least he has somewhat the potential to be a leader, and unlike McCain, wouldn't be just another puppet like Bush.
