Barack Obama throws Joe Biden under the bus

Pity poor Joe Biden. His "there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong" quote is put straight to President Barack Obama during the White House press conference just now and his boss seemed to want to say: "Vice-President Who?"

As reporters started giggling, Obama came close to conceding that Biden was indeed a joke. "You know, I don't remember exactly what Joe was referring to, not surprisingly."

The President went on to say that "I think what Joe may have been suggesting, although I wouldn't ascribe any numerical percentage to any of this, is that given the magnitude of the challenges that we have, any single thing that we do is going to be part of the solution, not all of the solution."

Of course, Biden wasn't saying anything of the sort - Obama knew that and all the rest of us did too.

Biden's exact quote, read out by Fox's Major Garrett at the presser was: "If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, if we stand up there and we really make the tough decisions, there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong."

Clearly, Obama and his aides were unhappy about Biden's loose lips. On Friday, top Obama adviser David Axelrod said on CNN: "I don't know exactly about what that math was."

We're probably going to have to get used to Obama explaining "what Joe may have been suggesting". And Biden must be wondering if he's going to end up as a Dan Quayle figure.

More continued infighting amonst the socialist Democrats can only be a good thing for this nation and the demise of Porkulus. And there's no way loudmouth Joe Biden will be a Dan Quayle figure.

Let the fun begin!

Biden and Quayle... good match.

Although Quayle was smart enough to just lay low after he got a bad rep. Joe loves to hear the sound of his own voice too much. I am sure Obama wishes he picked someone else.

Biden has always been a loose cannon with the lips.

One thing I will give him, is that he is honest. I like that in a politician. But he is much further left than Obama, so I hope for our CIC's health/safety.

Actually, if you go down the Chain, it is:

Moderate/Social Liberal

Left

Waaaayyyyyy F*ckin left

another poster to ignore I think, I've about had it with all the non-story right wing circle jerks...

yawn

I can tell you this much, i would like Biden and Obama to change seats but i would not expect any politics to change because of it, in fact, i don't think all that much would change if Obama and McCain changed seats.

Now Palin, she'd do something no one ever expected, she'd instate Saudi Arabia No2, "The Christian Rule, same rules, but with two extra thingys in the same thing that the Muslim.... wait, this is a long catch phrase"

I am going to say that i am grateful for the support that is arriving here but i we could use skilled personel since almost everything is driven by some kind of S unit.

The President of the United States is basically telling people that if our representatives don't do as he says we'll face catastrophe. How is that any different than Bush spreading fear into people so that he could get what he wanted (to fight in Iraq)?

I don't think you quite comprehend what it means to "throw someone under the bus". Hint: When you are doing that you don't make excuses or explanations for the person you're doing it to.

Now if Obama had said: "Joe is a dummy and I disavow everything he says" THAT would be throwing him under the bus.

I've been online about three times in three months, but i do have a vague memory of someone extraspecial stupid... hmm... 😉

??????? ??? ???

Seems like Biden was just being honest. If indeed 30% of what we try doesn't work, that is why we try a myriad of things to make SURE it works. Economics isn't an exact science. When it comes to this kind of "failure" rate in a plan like this, it is called redundancy, maybe you've heard of it. It may not be the most PC way to say it, but we will not succeed at everything we try. The most important thing is that we DO try these types of things to get our country going again. Hence, the multiple approaches included in this plan...

I think the collective laughter of the reporters was because that is exactly the kind of "fair and balanced" question that they expect from a FOX news reporter. No real hard-hitting insightful question about policy, just a comment on a sound byte hoping to get some real gem of an oratory flub-up. Those guys really are becoming a joke in their field. Next time, Obama should take questions from the Onion before FOX.

Barack Obama throws Joe Biden under the bus - Joe Biden throws the bus off him and the battle beings!!!

Barack shoots laser beams out of his eyes at Joe, and Joe counters by grabbing a mirror off a nearby car and deflects the laser beams off into the distance!

Joe lifts a Ford Pinto and tosses it at Barack!

Of course, the Pinto explodes in mid-air!!!!

Barack says "hey! Let the knobs fight! Let's get a beer!"

Joe says "Beer!?! Hells yes!"

You're pathetic.

Just as relevant to the truth but far mor enterteaining.

In the future, include a G60 just for fun. 😉

leave it to fox news to ask that stupid question.

I'm thinking, Who Cares. Tho, I guess in a dumbed down america I might be the only few thinking like this. Waste of question and a waste of time.

Biden is correct even though it wasn't smart to assign a number to the chance of failure. Remember part of the problem is a crisis of confidence so any honesty eruption has to be a little more smooth.

Whats this? Winnar posting something not off a legit news site, but off a blog? Oh, and the right wing circle jerk is all here to support him.

I am gonna love the next 8 years =) - anything that pisses these guys off is a good thing for our country.
