I must have missed the right wing circle jerk that you are referring to.

It's just in his mind, you know like those two girls that you see at some house and fantasise about. ;)

It's in the eye (or the fantasy) of the beholder. :D

In govt terms everything is doubled meaning 60% chance of failure. And this is from the people pushing it. Anybody outside of this can see it has a higher chance than that of doing nothing but adding huge debt and increasing the size\power of the federal govt.

I did laugh at Obama tossing old joe under the bus though.

Some of it will undoubtedly fail but to throw out general numbers based on GW's IQ isn't all that nice.

Show some respect.

As reporters started giggling, Obama came close to conceding that Biden was indeed a joke. "You know, I don't remember exactly what Joe was referring to, not surprisingly."

Obama was making a joke at his own expense.

And  to blind partisanship

I can see it already. No link between this stimulus package and economic growth in 2-3 years. The argument will turn to "well it saved us from losing x amount of jobs". Which is truely throwing out general numbers.

Pity poor Joe Biden. His "there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong" quote is put straight to President Barack Obama during the White House press conference just now and his boss seemed to want to say: "Vice-President Who?"

As reporters started giggling, Obama came close to conceding that Biden was indeed a joke. "You know, I don't remember exactly what Joe was referring to, not surprisingly."

The President went on to say that "I think what Joe may have been suggesting, although I wouldn't ascribe any numerical percentage to any of this, is that given the magnitude of the challenges that we have, any single thing that we do is going to be part of the solution, not all of the solution."

Of course, Biden wasn't saying anything of the sort - Obama knew that and all the rest of us did too.

Biden's exact quote, read out by Fox's Major Garrett at the presser was: "If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, if we stand up there and we really make the tough decisions, there's still a 30 percent chance we're going to get it wrong."

Clearly, Obama and his aides were unhappy about Biden's loose lips. On Friday, top Obama adviser David Axelrod said on CNN: "I don't know exactly about what that math was."

We're probably going to have to get used to Obama explaining "what Joe may have been suggesting". And Biden must be wondering if he's going to end up as a Dan Quayle figure.

More continued infighting amonst the socialist Democrats can only be a good thing for this nation and the demise of Porkulus. And there's no way loudmouth Joe Biden will be a Dan Quayle figure.

Let the fun begin!

A fecking blog from the fecking telegraph?

You have got to be shitting me?

please see sig. I actually think I originally said it after an earlier winnar post.

really? I thought it was pretty obvious. Lets see here... Another Obama bashing thread is posted (and typical winnar111, its from a blog, and not of much substance) and if you take a look, most of the initial comments are by many of the forums well known right wing haters.

Oooh look, another negative Obama post, jump in, jump in. We... must... spread... hate...

Ya, looking at it again, its pretty obvious.... I can not be the only one who saw it.

Most of it will just lead to wage increases for the top 1% if not capped, however spending money on things that WILL increase the potential for the future resources will not.

Of course, if one would be like you and not even wait until it's started to say it's crap then it will be crap. The market will use all ane every cent spend on it, but perhaps you don't believe in a market economy? I'm British and you can waste whatever you want as far as i'm concerned, i just hope that Brown and his party gets thrown out and replaced by liberals.

You want to label me as someone who is on the losing side? I don't HAVE a horse in this race but i do believe that the efforts that are redirected are beneficial not only to me but to the entire world.

Don't be daft, it's umbecoming.

I know Joe Biden, Joe Biden is a good friend of mine. ProfJohn, John Quayle is no Joe Biden.

Seriously, you aren't comparing Biden's intellect with Quayle's, right? Biden's fault lies in telling it as it when he shouldn't be, not a lack of intelligence. Quayle was a blathering idiot, which is why he went underground. I mean, the guy couldn't even spell potato right!

Just so we are clear on this, IF the curve is even less negative in 2-3 years that is a positive, if it's positive, it's an amazing unequaled task and i will bow at his feet.

Lemme quess, you were born in 89 and have no fucking clue about anything you ever write?

Expansion of govt is not the same as a market economy. 66 billion to the teachers union, 80+ billion for medicare, 250 billion in transfers of wealth payments. What about those scream "market economy"? All this did was fund wastegul govt funding at a higher rate.

I understand you dont have an actual horse in this race. But that doesnt mean you arent following and cheerleading from the sideline either.

This is what Republicans are resorting to?

"Obama doesn't want to seem negative on our chances to fix the economy so won't confirm VP's 30% remark!!"

As an independent, I notice at least the Democrats had something tangible and noteworthy the last 8 years. Things like "no pre-emptive wars!" or "we want the deaths of our soldiers to stop!"

Meanwhile, conservatives complain about a P and VP disagreeing and blowjobs.

Wow, talk about loaded language. A payoff to the teachers' union? Transfers of wealth payments? Are you joking? Increasing funds for education and providing aid to those recently unemployed are hardly wasteful spending. Hell, Medicare itself has proven itself more efficient than many private insurance organizations. It is well underfunded for its mission as currently defined so that isn't any big surprise. It isn't an expansion if that is what you are afraid of. That will be addressed later in a separate bill. If you want to inject free market into this, why not allow things like the importation of Rx drugs from other first world nations or let Medicaid/Medicare negotiate down the prices of drugs that it pays for? If you are going to debate the merits of those, that kind of hyperbole doesn't lend itself well to any meaningful public discourse on the subjects.

It's just a blog with a couple quotes and no meaningful content. It shouldn't be taken any more seriously than a random post on any particular internet forum.

Who do you think will be the primary beneficiary of an increase in "education" funding?
What do you call giving somebody who pays little to no taxes money for simply filing?
Medicare goes into the health industry. An industry which isnt showing signs of hurting like the rest of America.

And when the stimulus package money runs out are you telling me the democrats are going to simply let medicare and education lose that funding? How long have you been around? They will reauthorize the funding and tack on inflation for good measure. Meaning yes, what we see here is an expansion of govt.

As for importing prescription drugs. I dont have a problem with that. Provided of course we can verify the drugs are safe and not trampling any patents owned by domestic drug producers. It will better serve the consumer to have more choice.

How is this not a troll post?

Winnar111 starts another thread about a non-issue, then never comes back to the thread. And this isn't the first time he "posts and runs".
