Odd, I didn't see any black people in that cartoon. Perhaps the racism comes from the person watching?
You're just being naive.

No, you people are applying the standards of today on something that is over 70 years old. Times change, and if you look back at previous times and apply your logic to what it was back then you'll always find something to complain about.
The fact of the matter is people had thicker skin back then and didn't cry and whine about everything.
But I guess those "Typical white person(people)" are really all racists and want to keep their boots on those n1ggers necks. :disgust:

Okay, now you are being both naive and stupid. Racial insensitivity is no different back in the day then it is now. There's a reason why some of these ads/books/etc were banned or pulled from some media outlets back then in your so called "thicker skinned" days. I will give you though the level of exposure today has grown exponentially larger then it was in the 30s-40s.

Indeed, 1935 America. Alot of McCain voters from that time. (that's a joke, I love you guys)![]()
You missed the fact that they looked like monkeys. And your joke failed.
How so?
They looked like monkeys. That's much more offensive than watermelon. And your joke wasn't funny.

I can't even understand what they are saying.
Or do you just mean the watermelon?
The piece's entire comic value comes from the devaluing of an entire race.
I didn't find any of it funny.
The comic value is perceived on my part. I do not actually find it funny as I don't subscribe to the watermelon stereotype but am quite aware of how prevalent that stereotype was in the past.
<--and anyways, his culture WIPES THE FLOOR when it comes to eating watermelon*
*= I just realized that I have inadvertently posted a really insulting statement.:Q I will keep it up but did not realize what I wrote until I read it a second time.![]()
