Nope, the new one has a couple of good songs, but Aha Shake Heartbreak is still their best in my opinion.

I tend to prefer Heavy Metal/Heavy Prog/Prog Metal, and while I do like PTs earlier work I'm just not much into Psychedelic/Experimental Rock, so I prefer the newer PT.

Almost finished with In Absentia and so far you are right, it is the best album of the ones I've progressed through. Let's see what Deadwing and Blank Planet bring to the table...

It's hard for me to put Blank Planet ahead of Deadwing, I think that record is brilliant. The funny thing is I am listening to Blank Planet again right now and it is amazing in it's own right, but when compared to Deadwing I think it is slightly below it. What an impressive body of work PT has though, just fantastic.

The sounds are a bit different between the two albums. OoS starts off kinda soft and really doesn't ever get too heavy. Plug-in Baby and Citizen Erased are kind of hard at times, but not much. I think OoS is also a bit more emo (which would explain the softness) than BHaR.

BHar's politicalness isn't too bad if you ignore the first track, which kinda makes you listen to the whole CD looking for political mumbo jumbo. Like the talk in Assassin about "taking your leaders down". I'm also pretty sure Supermassive Black Hole talks about global warming with the stuff about "glaciers melting in the heat of night" .

Ack, missed this. After your previous post I went back and listened to OoS then BHaR and I think you may be right, OoS is very strong and overall may be the better album, with BHaR having a couple of exemplary tracks than eclipse any of the individual songs on OoS. However they are both very strong though and I could see the argument going either way.

Yeah, FoaBP takes a few listens to really enjoy it, and it is probably his heaviest album to date, but is still better than any of PT's first few albums.

I can only stand to listen to a few songs on any album past Morning View (2001). SCIENCE and Make Yourself are the best.

I have a legitimate argument. I believe AFI is getting better with age. Their latest albums are leaps and bounds better than their early albums. Their early albums only had a few good songs, but their late albums are one masterpiece after another.

Journey live in Hawaii with new material!

They are definitely better than anything since Raised on Radio. It only took 2 hours to sell out the Honolulu gig, so they decided to have a 2nd date and it sold out faster than the 1st. So, three's a charm, they added the 3rd one and it sold out just as fast. They played 3 in Japan right before the gig in Manila. All reviews indicate they are on fire and so far this tour is better than last year. They are on world tour and will be making stops in Europe before the US leg of the tour. So far, it's been just Journey, no opening or other acts.
