Someone like Mariah Carey might stand a chance of coming close, since she can actually sing and has done a range of music from ballads to hip hop. Not exactly a band, but close.

The only 2 that could come even close would be michael jackson or the beetles. Most people have atleast 1 michael jackson or beatles song they like.

How about Gwen Stefani/No Doubt? They have some old ska roots that might appeal to those that hate pop.
