My boss hates Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.. I guess they got overplayed when he was younger.

How about Lynyrd Skynyrd? I think most people like either Sweet Home Alabama or Freebird. Not to mention their other great songs

That would be a negatory.

You suck.. how the hell can you not like Freebird?

I don't like AC/DC
Not 1 song...you don't like one song? They have so many hits.
Just because they have hits doesn't mean they're good songs. I don't care for any AC/DC.
Agreed, but I highly doubt if you were at a party and an AC/DC song came on, you'd complain about it.
I've never met a man who didn't enjoy hearing Back in Black while drunk
Hi. My name is Robert. Nice to meet you.

(now you have)

If I were at a party, first of all nobody would be playing AC/DC at any party I went to, but secondly, I would be complaining, yes. I'm not Metro and I'm not gay, AC/DC just isn't that good. Their songs lack... substance. I don't know. I just don't get it.

I was just offering a possible reason why I might not like Skin-nerd. I think they suck...I hate southern rock almost as much as I hate Nascar and country music.

Short answer: there isn't one.

By the way, AC/DC was a terrible suggestion. What a terribly annoying band.

Maybe cause to us northerners theres nothing 'sweet' or 'home-like' about Alabama :)

I'm from Oregon/California and I like both "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Freebird."

If there are any bands/solo artists that everyone loves a song to, it would have to be either:

Michael Jackson
The Beatles
Elvis
Eric Clapton

Of those, I think Eric Clapton has the most varied body of work. I could see my grandmother possibly listening to some of his Unplugged album and liking it. Michael Jackson... you know you like at least one of his songs. The question is, how many age groups does he reach? I think quite a bit, but I don't know if it's enough. Songs like "Imagine" make the Beatles a possibility, but there were just too many drugs involved for EVERYONE to like their music. Plus, Stones fans hate Beatles fans, and vice versa, so they might be out just for that. Elvis would almost be a shoe-in if it weren't for his perception as a rebel. Many older folks wouldn't like him just because he was considered lude.

Either way, if there is a band EVERYONE likes at least one song from, it's got to be in that list.

Or maybe Toto. You don't fvck with Toto.... you just don't.

EDIT: Forgot about Billy Joel. That's possible. Doubtful, but possible.

Guns N' Svckin' Roses! :D

Watch yer mouth, boy. GNR rules. ;)

If your being serious here, saying G'N'R rules, they fall into the same cetegory as AC/DC. Except AC/DC is far superior to GnR. ;)

Dude, just for a second, hear in your head the beginning to Sweet Child o' Mine. Just for a second. If you like ANY rock, you like that riff. Period. It brings a smile to your face. Plus, they sang more than they screamed, and that helps. Not that Axel didn't scream, but his voice is about 51% singing and 49% screaming.

I'll give you Sweet Child of Mine, that song sounds amazing in my car. I just don't like them that much, they have a few songs that are OK, but if I hear Welcome to the Jungle one more fvcking time, someone's gonna die!

im going to throw stevie wonder out there. there may even be a song that one probably wouldnt even associate with stevie that they may like.

for the younger generation, ive seen rage accepted pretty well by people who usually stick to one genre. but like somebody said earlier, finding a band that is universally accepted is damn near impossible. perhaps somebody can think of at least 1 chili peppers song they like.
