What main character(s) class/race have you played as?

Who were you favourite party members?

Have you played through Throne of Bhaal?

I just restarted the game last night having played til around 40% through the game a couple years ago. Going to finish it this time. Took be over an hour to decide on a main character. Started with a Human Undead Hunter, then changed to a Half-Orc barbarian and finally settled on an Elf Berserker :D Pretty sure that's a rare combo, anyone else played through with that?

That sad, Modeps. BG2 is one of the best CRPGs ever made. :p

I've played it as a Monk, Kensai, Paladin, Ranger, Mage, and Cleric. I think I had the most fun as a monk and a Ranger though.

wow...all the way through or partially each time? As it turns out there are party members of all kinds to choose from so whatever class you pick will work out. yeah it's a very cool game.

I usually play RPGs as a mage, and in BG2 I started as a fighter and dual-classed to mage at (level 9? I forget). I'd held on to every spell scroll and bought more, so I could get through the first few mage levels just by learning spells.

Once you hit level 9 as mage you can start wielding non-mage weapons again (swords, crossbow, etc.) though you'll never get the abilities and feats of the high-level fighters :(

I played through BG2 completely as all of them. Only went through ToB as a Monk and Ranger though.

I thought Torment was the best CRPG of all time ;)

Agreed. I haven't played KOTOR yet, but ignoring it I'd rank either Fallout 1 or Torment as the best, leaning towards Torment. After that comes Fallout 2, Wasteland, and BG2.

Welcome to like, 2+ years ago. :)

I've replayed BG2+ToB with Fighter, Monk, Sorceror. I still have two more replays going on in parallel, two mainly custom parties. One has human Undead Hunter + elf Wild Mage + gnome Fighter/Mage(multiclass) + human Thief/Fighter(dual class). The other has a human Fighter/Druid(dual class) + elf Archer + human Berzerker/Mage(dual class) + halfling Figher/Thief(multiclass) + human Kensai.

DW Naked Fighter has a special term that I can't remember. Can't wear armor (I hope that was BG2). Oh, and THIEF!!!!!! :D

and that is truly sad, yes. :(

Dragon Age by Bioware could be a return though. I think devs need to focus more on gameplay and content than on graphics. Sound is more important than gfx for me.

Ming: absolutely dude. heh, my dad's still playing Transport Tycoon, Starcraft and Heroes 3 and I have Master of Orion 2 and XCOM installed on my machine, both of which get more time than Doom 3 etc. Btw, love your sig, couldnt be more accurate. oh, and you have the same name as our pug, ming :D

dont remember it being this easy at the beginning...slaughtering goblins, duergar and mephits left, right and center. The main obstacle is traps as i lost Imoen early.

No quality RPG in last years that could be compared to BG2 or Fallout.

Yea. What a turnoff. For me the only thing that could save the genre now is a sequel to PS:Torment (fat chance of that happening).

Don't know about that, I don't believe the genre is terminal yet.

I believe Fallout 3 was just saved from the brink of destruction. Also there's rumors that BG3 is in the works. I don't see why it wouldn't be true, BG is an excellent franchise.

If I recall my memory correctly, the phrase "Fallout 3 was just saved from the brink of destruction" is a bit inaccurate. I think the proper phrase would be "The name Fallout 3 has been saved from the brink of destruction to be utilized in unspeakable ways and further bury an awesome series".
