KAMI you spoke the truth...
well I did it with one other guy. I'm not talking about LAN...remember good old modem games where you actually dialed into the other guy's computer? This was before most people even had the internet

Those old point to point modem games in co-op mode were a blast! That was back when the game was new and having never played anything like it...it truly was like descending into hell just you and your buddy against all that is evil! Been hooked on the Doom/Quake series ever since.

Aaah the tears are brought to my eyes! :(

Yes Quake rocketjumping was amazing.....You really needed to master it well since you couldn't look totally straight down...so it was best if you quickly turned around and did the RJ backwards!

My computer multiplayer life:

WarcraftII - dialup and null cable
Rise of the Triad - dialup and null cable
Doom - dialup (when it worked :() and null cable
Descent/2 - dialup, network, and Kali (Internet)
Quake - LAN
Quake2 - only recently on LAN, too unbalanced :p (railgun vs everyone else:(:p)
Unreal - Internet
Half-Life/TFC - network and Internet
Starcraft - network and Internet
Unreal Tournament - network and DSL

I miss DescentII dialup so much. :(
I ruled that game because I could master the Sidewinder 3D Pro controls. :(

Fire up Gamespy and play away. I play Quake1 online daily and there a several good competitive servers still up and running. Quit reminiscing and play.
