Speaking as duly elected South Asian representative to these forums, I can say that the kind of driving you run into in India/Pakistan is 45,000 times worse than what you'll ever see in North America! And over there's it's all manual gearshifts, too. As an example...traffic tied up in front of you? Gun it through the opposing direction lanes fast enough and maybe you'll live to get wherever you're going ten seconds quicker! My cousins were the sons and daughters of the city police chief so we had a siren and light to flash to get out of our way too, sure cuts down on airport waits because of traffic.
So to conclude: Being trained over in some parts of Asia sharpens your driver reflexes to such an extent that you'll probably be an excellent driver when you come back over - when I landed back in Toronto I was amazed at the slow pace of traffic (though we were already doing 110 km/h). Of course it could go the other way and you could carry over those insane habits, but IMO that's much less likely to happen.
