Not too shabby, and the socks make it better. I was looking for another pair of high boots, only lighter in weight than my all leather chippewas.

I think they send you a slip you gotta mail back for the socks. Normally you get a free pair thrown in to the box. I could be wrong?

Yeah these would be good for anything. My brother's a cop and uses their black boots. I used to be a paramedic and a cop and loved 5.11 boots. I got me a pair of the brown ones for hunting/camping etc. And the way I read it was the socks were mail in voucher...we'll see.

5.11 (five-eleven) tactical gear is top notch quality stuff.

The sizes are dead on or maybe 1/2 a size smaller. I used a pair of these earlier this summer during Officer Candidate School and they are great! Feel like a sneaker and no blisters after 10 miler ruck marches, etc.

get what size sneaker/running shoe you wear...not your boot size. My boot size is one size smaller then my sneaker size..weird I know.

just ordered. my shoes vary from 11 to 12. so i guess im in the safe zone purchasing the ds-11.5-reg (woot -$10). with socks, total w/ shipping ended up $40. hope these boots can keep up with me.

You get a coupon to send in for ONE pair of socks, they usually include two pair in the box but you don't get those with the closeouts.

Still a good deal, but boy are these an ugly color! I don't think the black ones are worth spending an extra $110 though.
