Who the fuck microwaves bacon? Pan frying ftw.

don't knock it till you've tried it. bacon is the nectar of the gods. and as such, demands a full palate of cooking methods.

Bacon is supposed to be crispy. Microwave = no crisp = fail

I dunno, soft bacon makes it seem like... meat... crispy bacon isn't all that tasty.

see, there's microwave fail right there.

do you think I would ever recommend the microwave if I didn't know from personal experience that you CAN GET CRISPY BACON in the microwave?

broaden your horizons, oh depressingly ill-informed noobs of bacon.

pan fry? lol n00bs!

George Format grill = t3h w1ns! only possible advantage of cooking it in a pan would be if you want to cook some eggs in the left over bacon grease after wards. The Format grill also prevents it from curling up and overall just gives it a better consistency.

Pan cooking tastes better.

I just dont have the time to do that, and resort to the microwaveable.

Bacon can be just as crispy in the microwave, just takes some figuring out the correct amount of time to be in there. It all varies by brand.

what's a format grill?

also, those George Foreman grills are the worst things to ever happen to meat, hands down.

learn, grasshopper.

it is simply a tool, a means to an end.

I'm not the only one in this thread recounting personal experiences of crispy microwave bacon.

Take a glass or plastic bowl - the steeper the sides, the better - with a height greater than 1/2 the length of your bacon strips. Suspend wooden chopsticks over this bowl, and hang your bacon over the chopsticks such that the free ends are at equal lengths and not touching the bottom.

Your DIY bacon microwave oven setup.

EDIT: Plastics don't hold up to high heat, but theoretically, a microwave oven cannot heat water-bearing foods past the boiling point. Once your bacon loses all of its water, it's ruined anyway.

microwave and bacon don't belong in the same sentence except if the sentence is, "He microwaved bacon so I shot him to put him out of his misery."
